As the blinding morning struck my eyes I threw the covers over my head, only for the realization of where I was struck me. I jumped out of bed and put my shoes back on. I looked out the window that had blinded me to see what's happening or what time it was. Getting my answers I headed out of the room almost sneaking around. I'm aware I don't have to but it's like a reflex to do so.
Running down the path that I remember we took to the room I took my time to look around to see if I could find something, anything. Didn't matter what but something. Empty handed i stuck to the wall and peeked around the corner. Noticing it was some kind of communal room. Some familiar faces, but no names to go with them.
I jumped to the feeling of someone peeking their head around the corner in the same manner as I was.
"You don't have to sneak around, you know. You said you wanna stay here so it's your home too."
Marco pulled his head away from the corner to look down at me.
His little smile annoyed me even though he was kind of right. He walked past me into the room to talk with the others.
With that i continued my search still stealthy but less in a way. I found a staircase down, I would mark where it was on the ship but I honestly have no clue where I am. I followed the steps one by one down to see where it would bring me. It was dark and hard to see. This is the first time my devil fruit will come in handy. I used my hand to guide my way. Boxes and chest full of scraps. It wasn't garbage or anything. Noticing the pile of woods in different shapes and thickness.
"It's like the terminal." I kind of felt calm down there. I looked around in the metal to find anything like my pipe. I found a few but they were all pretty tall or only a few inches long. I went through the few big ones to find the right size and looked at it measuring it the perfect height. Nervously I took my hands and put it on the measured part and practically smelled it. I waited for it to cool down before placing the scraped part down. It was more of a stick than a pipe but it will do for now. And it can handle the fire pretty well so it's perfect.
I noticed my eyes filled with excitement.
Testing it out, I swung it around a bit. "Ya this will do nicely."
I took one more look around and peeked up the stairs to see if I could hear anyone.
The coast was clear. I ran up the steps faster than I went down."Where am I anyways?" I walked around aimlessly for a few minutes. I seemed to have found what I think is a sleeping quarters, although different from what I would have expected. It was quite clean and had no unpleasant smell. I walked passed and continued my walk around the endless maze.
I found the dining hall, more storage, sleeping rooms, restrooms and showers, and just a bunch of random rooms I couldn't explain. Turning yet another corner brought me to a hall that had a long prison made of glass, looking through it I noticed it was a library, nothing that I was much a fan of but I knew Sabo would like it so despite my best interest I went to take a look.Wondering shelves and shelves full of books, some new and some that looked centuries old. I picked one up at random, and opened it up. " a picture book? A great explorer, Nolan-" lame. Closing it up I put it back and looked up. "This place is too big, who needs a library with so many levels?"
I walked out of the library through another door than I entered. I managed to wander back to the communal room I saw earlier although it was now empty. I walked in to check it out. The room had a few couches and a little side cubby with some coffee and tea stuff, nothing that interested me.
"There you are. You disappeared from everyone for a while there."
I turned around and went into a defective position, pipe in hand.
"Sorry didn't mean to scare you. Wait, where did you get the pipe?" Marco tilted his head in confusion.
"I went down some stairs and welded some things together." I lowered my hands.
"Welded it? Anyways some rooms on the ship aren't exactly safe so be careful." He walked into the room and leaned on the back of the couch that was placed in the middle of the room.
"It's still a hell of a lot safer than the terminal, there wasn't anyone with weapons there. I'm used to a lot worse than whatever is on this ship, I can handle myself."
"Alright , alright. If you're not scared then why don't you come on the deck with us? You can't stay all alone forever."
I looked down and tisked." Whatever." I walked back out of the room done with my search.
