On a night with a full moon, a little outside of the city, screams could be heard through the night. A woman was giving birth in a small cottage, her partner by her side.
The woman, Erica was a Silver noble and the man with her was Luke, a Red servant working at the royal castle. The two had met under very particular circumstances but fell in love fast and hard. However, a relationship between a Silver and a Red was forbidden, let alone between a Silver noblewoman and a Red servant, so they had to keep their relationship a secret from everyone. They were both surprised when Erica got pregnant a few months later but despite their fear of what that could mean, they were happy that they would have a baby.
When it was Erica's month to give birth, they decided to go hide in a small cottage that Luke knew about close to the borders of the kingdom where nobody would find them and where they would stay until the baby came to the world.
As Erica was screaming from pain, Luke kept encouraging her to push, his hand firmly holding hers. With a final push, Erica sighed in relief, the only sound now was the soft crying of a newborn baby. Luke bent down to take the baby in his arms and wrapped it in a soft blanket before handing it to its mother.
"It's a girl!" Luke said staring adoringly at the baby. "You did it love"
"She's beautiful" the new mother said with a small smile.
"What should we name her?" Luke asked. They both looked at their child who was looking back at them with confusion. The little girl had her mother's porcelain skin and her father's black hair. Her eyes were a mix of green and light blue. She was perfect!
"Helena" Erica said.
"My mother's name? Are you sure about that honey?" Luke asked surprised.
"Yes, I am. Besides, I know how much you loved her. I'm sure she would be really happy if she knew that you named our daughter after her"
Luke looked at his girlfriend in wonder and appreciation. Then, he turned back to his daughter and cupped her cheek.
"Then it's settled" he took her from her mother's hand and gently held her.
"Welcome to the world, Helena Emilia Campbell"
