I could feel the rain sharply hit my exposed skin as I ran down the street, my breathe heavy and panting. I was sprinting at this point not caring about the almost haily rain. I didn't even look behind me. I just needed to get to Wally. I needed to get to him or I knew I was dead. I needed that stupid psychopath to save me. I hated being helpless but I was right now. Tears started streaming down my face as I ran faster than I ever did in my life just so I could get there faster. I was furiously balling my eyes out not knowing if it was the rain soaking my face or the tears and guessing it was probably a bit of both.
As I approached Wally's house I began to bang and knock on it with all the might I had just to get his attention. I looked behind me and gulped. I hoped he didn't follow me but who knew. I just needed to get inside. I needed Wally. Just as I was about to go to knock again the door swung open. I felt the comforting warmth from the doorway as I stood. "Lilith?" Wally stood there in what seemed like only a pair of sweatpants and a tank top. I looked up at him longing to come in or at least run into his arms. "Lilith what's wrong?" He asked, putting a hand on my back and pushing me inside before closing the door behind the both of us and turning around to face me. He looked down at my exposed arms and down to my legs. I watched his eyes grow from concerned to pure rage. I tried to hug myself to cover the bruises up but it hurt even touching them. "Wally?" I tried to get his attention but he seemed to be stuck looking at my arm in a trance of rage. "Wally? Look at me Wally" I begged at this point as tears flooded my eyes. He looked up at me and began to shake his head as he took a step closer to me.
"Who did this to you?" He asked taking a hold of my face and holding it gently as if afraid of hurting me. He seemed to change his gaze into a soft look when he looked at me. It didn't calm me down though because I knew he was filled with rage right now. I began to sob and looked down. "M-my f-father" I cried out. All I wanted was to cry into his chest again and feel at peace but I knew that wasn't happening when I saw his gaze harden and the rage was back. "Barnaby!" His voice was no longer caring or soft it was dark and deep. I flinched at the sudden change in his tone. He never seemed to have a deep voice until now. "Whatttttttt" a voice yelled back that I assumed had belonged to Barnaby. Wally turned his attention back to me and looked down with a clearly fake soft look on his face and almost scared me more than him showing his anger. "Barnaby will take care of you darling, okay? I just...have to run some errands" he gave me a forced smile. I was scared of what he meant by 'errands'. "But Wally-" he cut me off. "Don't worry about me Darling ill be back I promise" I gulped and nodded.
I heard footsteps behind me and turned around to see what seemed like a 6'4 huge blue dog. This was definitely barnaby. His annoyed look dropped once he saw me covered in bruises and tears. I looked back at Wally who was looking at barnaby and nodded over at him, his eyes now filled with more rage than I had ever seen. I turned over to look at Barnaby who gave him a nod back in response. That's when I watched as Wally turned away from me and left the house without saying a word, slamming the door behind him and making me jump slightly.
"Come here kid" Barnaby put his paw on my shoulder once he noticed I was just blankly staring at the door that Wally stormed out of. That took me out of my trance and I began to follow him further inside and into the living room. I sat down on the couch and just stared down at the ground. "Would you like some coffee or tea kid?" He asked. I looked up and shook my head at him forcing a soft smile onto my face. He let out a sigh. "Maybe something stronger?" He asked giving me a reassuring smile. I nodded up at him while I watched him pour me some whiskey into a glass. He handed it over to me and I took it without hesitation before downing the whole glass and finishing it.
"You good kid?" Branaby placed his paw back onto my shoulder after sitting down beside me and bringing the whiskey bottle with him. "Thanks" I smiled up at him before pouring myself another glass. "I know you probably don't want to talk about it but just know that I'm here, okay? You can be my new drinking buddy even, just don't tell Wally" he whispered the last part which made me let out a small giggle. "Thanks Barnaby, really it means a lot" I gave him a soft smile. He patted my back before getting up from his seat. "Anytime kid" he said it as he got up while I took a drink of my whiskey. "Hey do you know where the back door is?" I asked him. He looked down at me and frowned. "Why what's up?" He asked. I took out a box of cigarettes from my pocket and showed it to him while smiling sheepishly.
He waved a dismissive paw at me. "Its fineeee you can smoke inside" he said reassuringly. I raised a eyebrow at him. "Are you sure?" I asked trying to not be rude. "Trust me it's okay. Wally is a serious chain smoker" Barnaby let out a small laugh. "Really?" I said almost in disbelief. Wally didn't seem like the type to even smoke. I mean he did but at the same time he just didn't. "Yeah I barely ever seen him without a smoke in his mouth" Barnaby said making me nod. "He just doesn't seem like the type" I told barnaby while lighting up a my smoke with my lighter that I grabbed out of my pocket too.
For tbe next hour or two I spent my time trying to distract myself from wanting to just fall over and die by drinking with Barnaby who seemed to be doing a great job at distracting me and keeping me from breaking down. The alchoul was also helping me in ways which was nice. I was honestly having so much more fun than I ever did before in my whole life.
As I laughed at barnaby's joke I heard the door open. I looked over and saw Wally with a cigarette in his mouth that he began to light with a lighter. I couldn't help but admire how attractive he was. His blue hair was no longer styled and had fallen all the way down to his shoulders from the rain. I noticed he was slightly built in his arms and it suited him a lot. Just everything about him seemed perfect. I got lost in my trance until I noticed his white tank top wasn't just white like it used to be. There were red stains on it and some where on his sweatpants. My breathe began to get shaky. Barnaby followed my lead after a few seconds and turned around too but before he could notice what I had noticed Wally had grabbed a jacket and tied it around the stains to hide it. I gulped knowing that I was the only one who saw, that scared me even more. "Hey Wals, you good?" Barnaby asked giving him a smile while I watched as Wally instead of looking at barnaby turned to look at me. I hoped he didn't notice that I jumped very slightly out of the fear that he would know what I saw.
His gaze was almost hypnotic while it began to almost take me into a trance. He gave me a slight smirk and a wink. He knew. He knew I knew and it scared me even more. "All good Barns just went on a walk, needed to clear my head, you know how it is right, Lilith?" He was looking at Barnaby while he spoke but turned to look at me in the end. I gulped but nodded in response. I knew I was scared of him and what he probably had done but I kept trying to calm myself down by saying that he did it for me. It worked a little but didn't calm me down completely.
Soon enough Wally had sat down beside me on the couch while Barnaby sat on the other side of me rambling on about something to do with chasing birds but I couldn't focus on what he was saying. Wally had given me a blanket and put it over the both of us but still kept his distance from me when suddenly I felt him place his hand on my thigh under the blanket. I tried to act calm and natural as Barnaby kept going on and on about those birds without a care in the world. I leaned down to get my glass of whiskey from the table but before I could go too far Wally had done it for me. He turned to face me and gave me a innocent smile while all the while bringing his hand further up my thigh. He gave me the glass and I gulped while letting myself turn a bright red colour on my face. "Thanks" I said before taking it and sitting back. He let out a low dark chuckle before doing the same. I let out a shaky sigh and began to down the whole glass once again to help myself hide the fact that Wally was making me feel ways no one had done before right now, especially not after probably slaughtering my father.
"Oh you guys are a blast! I think I should get going though, it's getting late and I want to be getting a early night tonight" Barnaby sighed, looking down at his watch. My heart sunk. This ment I was going to be all alone with Wally after he leaves and probably I'm going to be staying the night. I blushed slightly at the thought of that. "Ayo you good kid? You seem to be all red there" Barnaby said making me want to punch him for pointing that out. I heard a small chuckle from the other side of me and new it was Wally. "Ah yeah I'm good don't worry about it just go get that sleep" I gave Barnaby a smile. He smiled back at me and nodded. "Okayyyyy thennn see you Walls and you of course Lilith" Barnaby stood up from the couch and looked at Wally first before turning to me. I smiled as he started to walk away. "See ya Barns!" Wally yelled once Barnaby was at the door. "Bye guys!" He yelled back and gave me a wave, to which I returned him one before he left through the door.
