Aubrey Scott:
I greet my best friend as she took a seat next to me at the bus. We're going to the Mind Museum for our Educational Field Trip, today. "Kyle, I think I like someone" I admit. The thought of Evan Gregory. One guy, one memory and a thousand feelings.
For the past four months, he's all I could think about. After that, he never talked to me since then. All I could do was take a glance at him during breaks and the occasional small talk in Facebook. I have to admit, he's way out of my league.
"Who's the lucky guy?" She asks.
"He's also a member of your club"
Her face grimaced as she thought of all the guys in the The Stallion Gazette, the school news paper. I can imagine her sorting the guys out in her mind and she answers "Is it Alen?"
I shake my head.
"Is it Jackson?"
I shake again. She mention a few more and she smirks as if she read my mind. "It's Evan, am I right?" She said it as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. But-
"Yeah" I sheepishly admit.
She stares at me wide eyed and said "He likes you back"
What did my best friend just say?
Evan Gregory, the guy I really like, likes me back?
"We don't even talk that much and Evan is probably in to you. The last time he talked to my was to ask your number." I reason out.
"There are always two sides in a story, Aubrey"
Evan Gregory:
I can't get her out of my mind. I text Kyle as I walked up to her.
Aubrey Scott.
"Hey"
"Uhm...hey Evan!" She cheerfully greets me.
"Can I have Kyle's number?"
She stared at me as if I grew another head and wrote it down at a piece of paper and walked away. Why?
My phone rang.
"Hey Evan! What happened?" I swear to god does Kyle have the sixth sense?
"She gave me your number and walked away"
"You could've thought of a better idea of approaching her! Knowing you, you probably gave her the wrong idea. You should have just talked her, you know? Like how normal people do it?"
I ended the call and stared at my home screen, it was a stolen picture of Aubrey during that day.
It was June, the weather was pretty hot if you asked me. Volunteering on redecorating the library probably wasn't the best of ideas to do during the summer.
I observed the crowd of students as they listened to Ms. Wright as she gave out the instructions. One girl stood out, there were two thing I noticed about her: that she was beautiful and that she was late, very late if you ask me. She must have noticed me staring at her she glances at me and smiles at me.
Days pass and nothing intresting happens, I still look at her from time to time. One day, she walked up to me.
Aubrey Scott:
"Are you just gonna interrupt me as I tell the story?" I rolled my eyes at Kyle.
"Jeeez what a buzz kill. Please continue!"
I gathered my courage and walked up to the guy who looked at me during the assembly. "Hi!"
"H-hey" He greets me.
"I'm Aubrey, Aubrey Scott" I extend my arms.
"Evan Gregory" He smiled.
I'm literally like one of those girls in movies who experienced love at first sight. How cliché. However, my daydream of Evan being interested in me, disappeared.
Kyle just texted the whole time and to think that she practically forced me to tell my heart breaking first- love-oh-so-cliché-story.
"You like jumping into conclusions" She laughs as we walked towards the museum. Someone pulls me away from the crowd. What happened next proved Kyle right.
Evan Gregory:
I can't believe I convinced myself to do this after reading Kyle's text.
"What the hell is your--Evan?!"
"Hey Aubrey" I try to hide my shyness.
I stared at her flustered expression and whispered "I would like to kiss you right now but the guard said not to touch the master pieces"
Aubrey Scott:
I swear I can't breathe. At that moment every thing was clear. Evan Gregory likes me and I like him back.
Kissed him. "They didn't say the masterpieces can't touch you."
***
"And kids, that's how I met your dad"
