☾.·:*¨¨* ≈☆≈ *¨¨*:·. ☀The sun and the moon, the polar opposites and intertwined lovers, deities who in the midst of their despair, could only see each other still in the fogs of night or clouds of day.
The deities every night danced around each other, the sun calling out and running after as the moon ran as well, the two switching as they circled the planets in the midst of their romance. Despite how in love the two were, with the suns joyful warm, pure joyful light and the moons glowing beauty, a soft luminous light barely shedded in the dark, they could never see one another.
It was an unspoken rule, a promise to the gods above and those who overlooked that the sun and the moon were to never cross paths, and never fall within step.
The traditional stories have been passed down decades, even centuries as people tucked their children in, the legend being told as a bedtime story, like a lullaby to the child's ears. Yet, after all of this, a incident occurred.
Long after, on one day, people discovered the existence of the lunar eclipse. It was described as the meeting of the sun and moon, where both would meet, and everything would go dark. As the moon overlapped the sun, people would whisper about it, and soon they named it the meeting of the sun and moon.
It was said that every once a while, the sun would finally catch up to the moon, and they would live the best of the short, sweet moments together as the bittersweet times continued till once more they split. For so long, on the same date, the eclipse would occur and people would stand outside, lips parted in shock and awe painted on their faces.
One day though, people had been standing out on that very day and watched as once more, the beautiful sight of the sun and moon eclipsing would happen. They would stand and watch happily as their children pointed, amazed by the large event happening in the sky. But, as they waited for the departure of the sun and the moon, it never came.
People waited, and waited. Some said it was the deities losing time, others said the two had crashed into one another and were doomed to die, others were just simply shocked.
Soon, people realized that this wasn't simply an eclipse, it was the collision. The collision of the sun deity and moon deity, something that was never expected to happen, yet did. The eclipse lasted, days, and after 14 long days, they started to split.
People could never figure out the history between their then, however it's noticeable how much of an affect there was after the collision. Soon, afterwards when the citizens cried out in joy, an old woman appeared, she was one who had never been recognized, and yet she still appeared. She gathered others, spreading word as she claimed to have received a message from god.
She said, "My dear townsfolk, I have received word from the lord. As day and night has returned, things anew have arrived. From now on, a deity shall be born- one of the suns reincarnate and the other the moons, and god bless that they show up soon." Many believed the woman to be insane, but some believed her.
Soon, she started mentioning psychic dreams, predictions for the future and oracle-like messages to the people. And as she said, things had happened in that way- the people were shocked at the revelation, and soon she became the Oracle of Priests, assisting people in decisions, listening in, and announcing word of god himself.
It's been centuries since then, still yet a legend passed down one generation by another as parents retell the story, carrying on the legacy as the child follows. Now, people await for the day they find the sun and the moons reincarnations, hidden somewhere out there as they wait, searching for the answers.
However, people were quick to notice the differences from humans before to now. After the collision, peoples bodies and systems changed, people started to become species never thought of before. Sometimes, they grew animal-like features, and then other times they could become like crystals.
Parallel to the occurrence, people started developing marks, each person would have a birthmark that would represent a symbol. The soulmate would develop the same birthmark as well, assigning two people to fall in love as children were born, naturally discolored symbols drawn on with dark pigment or lighter pigment on the left wrist.
After a while, a date would develop, the kid growing and meeting others as they searched for the one that they truly belonged with, the one they were destined to. As it continued, at adulthood, they would develop the date of the meeting they and their soulmate would meet under the symbol, it would develop after they crossed paths with their soulmate, fate deciding their true paths.
It was just like an eclipse. An eclipse where two lovers met, and love would grow from that seed, sprouting into a large tree and continuing, just like a legacy that was to be carried on forever.
However, god forbid that you have the symbol of the sun or moon on your left wrist, for your fate then has been decided, and you then shall know that you have a path you are to walk, as the reincarnation of a fallen deity, the truth and light of the sun and the cool glow of the moon.
