Can't It Just Be A Nightmare?

Camping Trip

Jett and Layla were just little ones when they were separated from their parents. The Foremans had gone on a family camping trip in the mountains of Northern California. It was all fun and games for awhile: playing toss the horseshoe, making Smores, telling scary stories, and hiking. But no one ever told the two proud parents of their 4 & 8-year-old that they would have the unthinkable happen: their children would be in danger.

It was a sunny afternoon when Tim, father of Jett and Layla, suggested that the family go on a hike. They packed a backpack full of water bottles, trail mix, bug spray & sunscreen, and a first aid kit. Then, they set off.

The family walked for about a mile, when suddenly they found the most gorgeous spot to stop and watch the sunset. Everyone was so enthralled by it, that no one realized that the ground beneath the two children was completely unstable.

The ground tipped forward and suddenly there was no ground, but also no children. They were caught at the top of a landslide! The mother of the children, Andrea, screeched, lunging herself towards the tip of the cliff, but in fear of losing his wife too, he grabbed her before she could jump off. Tim was hollow-eyed and shocked at what had just happened.

It started out as a nice day camping with his small, yet beautiful family, and then suddenly - THIS!? He felt like crying, but the tears wouldn't come. His wife stretched her arms around his neck, blubbering into his shoulder. Tim was too nervous to look over the side of the cliff, in fear of what he might see. However, he HAD to be strong. For his wife.
