약속 (Promise)

A beginning

(Year, 2006; Place, Daegu, South Korea)

[Jin's pov]

I entered the city just to see the destruction caused by the demons. I heard someone calling for help so I dashed to the house, I saw a demon about to attack a child before that could happen I slashed the demon's neck instantly. I looked at the kid who was still scared even to open his eyes. I slowly knelt down to the child and saw a injury on his neck. I took out a piece of cloth from my Haori (An overcoat worn by samurais or swordsmen) and placed it on the injury just to stop it from bleeding I noticed the child flinch and said "Hey it's alright...Don't worry now" the child slowly opened his eyes but fell down and started to back away from me. Maybe because of my wolf mask i wore, it was convincing since the child seemed he was 11 or so. I removed my mask and said "I won't hurt you little one. Come let me help you" the child slowly opened his eyes and looked at me before slowly standing up and walking towards me. I managed to take care of the district by myself that night. Later during the day the rescue team had arrived and took over.
It's only been a year since I joined the corps and I'm already getting this much of missions...

I noticed it was dusk now so I had to leave right away. Good thing was that my speed was enough to clear out the suspicion. I soon reached home and peeked into my "parents" room (the couple who helped Jin with his disguise) I saw them sleeping so i went to bed to get some sleep but before i could fall asleep I heard the hawk outside. I sighed and went to him. He landed down and said "Lord Lee wants to see you" I nodded and left to the headquarters. I was assigned with another mission and the best part I can't refuse to it until I'm injured. I was getting sent to Dongjak-gu. It's my 5th time going to that place for a mission i wonder what attracts these demons to go there again and again......
