"Announcement – All students above grade 8 head to the ground premises. WAs announced prior, there will be practices and selections today since there will be a public holiday this Friday. I repeat, all students above grade 8 head to the ground premises now. The students must head to their respective houses. House captains and prefects will be in charge. Thank you."

"Dude, I didn't even bring the water bottle!"

"Yesss, to the ground!"

"So no lectures, right?!"

"What the hell?!"

"Please come to the pavilion, I cant stay alone!"

The class, in fact, the whole corridor, was suddenly loud. Arya, next to me, let out a sigh before standing up.

The teacher had already left. The students were already moving out too when I noticed Miley leaned into the classroom from the doorway and yelled, "Ill get going, send a message if you need anything, 'kay?"

Arya simply nodded before Miley took off.

It was around 10 seconds of silence before I heard Arya speak.

"Lets go," she stated, and it took around 3 more seconds for me to process that she told it to me.

"Ah-ah, okay," I mumbled, taking the water bottle and the cap because I get sunburns pretty easily before catching up with Arya, who was already at the door.

We were peacefully (but awkwardly) sitting on the furthest step in the pavilion, watching the busy grounds, feeling the raging heat even in the shade of the pavilion. That was until a guy, in the track suit called, "Arya, sir asked for you, girl! You should be at the ground, what you doing here?! The track and field event selections!"

I heard Arya cursing under her breath before vocalizing a "coming" as she stood up.

"Arya," I called, which was not really planned, "here," I held out my cap for her. With the few seconds she just stared back and forth at the cap and at me, thought she would refuse, but she actually took it and wore it before walking away.

It was boring, AF. There weren't many in the pavilion, and I couldn't go back to the class either, so I stood up to sit in the front row, where I could see 'certain someone' talking with a coach at the corner of the ground.

It was hammer throw, I guess. I just knew she didn't have to go to the selections, she would be in the event nonetheless. They had three rounds in every selection for each event, and there would be four finalists and Arya would definitely be among them. I watched her perform — she didnt even have to try, she was doing better than anyone yet. The way she stood out of everyone there, her sturdy arms stretching to adjust the pace, her piercing gaze at the targeted distance, her light exhales

I am pretty sure I am not being creepy, just observating!

Some girls, including three middle-schoolers, came next to her as she sat on the ground with the break she got. I watched as she smiled and greeted them, way~ nicer than she is to me.

I let out a scoff and unwittingly rolled my eyes I almost didn't catch her stare. As our eyes unexpectedly met, she waved at me, signaling a "come here".

To the ground? Fuck no it's too sunny.

I was about to shake my head a "no" but her gaze said otherwise. Maybe she needs water.

I sighed and took my water bottle before walking to her, ignoring the burn I felt the instant I stepped out of the pavilion.

I pointed the water bottle at her, who was sitting on the ground, legs crossed. Instead of taking it, she clutched my wrist and pulled me down to her side.
