CHAPTER 7
Mike, on the other hand, didn't believe the threats and chose to wait and see, which is where he went wrong.
All I had to do was watch the drama unfold, and being a melon eater can be too good at times.
I received a link from Clark that I eagerly opened, only to discover that a reputable paparazzi page had uploaded the first photo, blurred the lady's face but completely exposed Mike to the public, with a juicy headline to attract readers.
I couldn't help but laugh as I read the story; honestly, I'm not sure what these paparazzi did to get involved with the godmother, but as long as everything was going my way, I was game for anything.
My phone started ringing just as I was finishing this wonderfully written post. I set my tablet down and picked up my Berry phone, smiling as I saw who was calling.
"Hello dear!" I said as I swiped the screen to answer the phone.
[Thank God I got through to you. I thought that you won't be available.]
"And why will I not be available? It's not as if the world is about to end!" I made fun of my friend on the other end of the phone line.
[That's what I like about you, ha ha ha. Have you seen the Facebook trending news?]
To appease my beloved friend's ego, I decided to act as if I didn't know anything, saying, "no, I haven't. What's going on there? I've been extremely busy moving!"
Because Debra is a friend, I decided to inform her of my relocation.
[Ahh, well, that's good. Don't forget to show me your new digs and spill all the juicy details about what's going on. But for now, Mike the scumbag is trending on Facebook. Apparently, he wasn't just seeing you, but a few others as well!]
I could hear Debra's rage over the phone and couldn't help but wonder how angry she was right now. Some cartoonish characters were already performing magic in my head, but that was for another time; right now, I needed to focus on Debra and provide her with a safe haven.
"Let me look into it. What more harm can he do? He's already turned me into a laughingstock!"
After saying this, I took up my tablet and opened the page I was reading previously.
[Don't worry, dear; that scumbag doesn't deserve it. Simply disregard him. If he ever bothers you, just call me and I'll deal with him!"
"Ha ha, don't worry about that, Dee. He won't be able to do anything to me because I have security with me." I reassured her because I didn't want her to be concerned about me.
I spent some time talking with Debra about Mike's brave actions. People were angry, scolding both Mike and the lady in question for having an affair, and I could see it in the comments.
The call ended, and just as I was about to stand up to use the restroom, I received another call from Mike, whom I had been ignoring for quite some time.
Since I couldn't avoid him indefinitely, it didn't hurt to respond to him and hear what he had to say, "what is it?"
[Do you talk to your man like this?]
This narcist of a man, who believes he is the Lord and superior to women. This was never my favorite aspect of him.
"Umphh, you stopped being my man the day your wife appeared in my face and humiliated me in front of the ladies. Do you have any idea how devastated I was when that happened? You didn't even bother looking for me when I wanted to hear your side. And now you've appeared! Do you think I haven't seen your heinous deeds?" I yelled angrily at him.
It wasn't because he had hurt my feelings; for one thing, I knew exactly what I was getting myself into. Mike was and always will be a scumbag; this will not change.
[Babe, I know I was wrong and didn't tell you the truth about my marriage, but that was it. I've always been open and honest with you about everything. I_]
"Mike, aren't you a jerk? Ah, sincerity! Are you trying to fool me?" I couldn't take his shamelessness any longer.
The more he spoke, the angrier I became.
[Believe me, Babe. Let's meet and talk face-to-face!]
"Mike, please leave me alone!" I stated in my messages, "we're done, you and me. Sort your scandals online before harassing me. I can't believe I've been so trusting of you all this time. You irritate me!"
I hung up on him and tossed the phone on the other couch.
'This man is a jerk. Let's get rid of this person and get away from Cretia right away!'
I took out my tablet once more and began reading the news with renewed zeal.
When the day was done, Mike and his wife were trending, and it was serious.
The next day, I awoke as usual, and despite how difficult it was to adjust to a new environment, I slept wonderfully and awoke feeling very refreshed.
I finished my morning chores and went to the café, leaving the new apartment with Clark and the others sent to protect me.
I was expecting to see Mike wandering around when I arrived, but to my surprise, he wasn't there, which was unexpected. But, given the difficulties he is currently experiencing, it would be a huge surprise if he came to me instead of dealing with his problems at home.
With Clark in my office, I began to pay attention to Mike's case.
Mike was apparently in a lot of trouble this time, simply because he refused to pay the money that Clark had told him to pay the day before. The amount has even increased, and more than ten photos have been posted, all of which were of Mike with a different woman.
"Several scandals have already started affecting Mike's companies, the share price is decreasing and shareholders have already started showing their dissatisfaction. It won't be long before Mike loses his company if we keep fanning the flames," Clark notified me.
"That's perfect," I nodded, as this news was simply thrilling and good news for my ears, "put some pressure on them and don't just use the scandalous affairs, but gradually release the evidence. I want to see him lose it all, and don't forget Gertrude!"
I had no intention of abandoning this couple for any reason whatsoever. I would not have lost her if it hadn't been for them. They owe me money, and I was going to take them seriously.
'You will be sorry you ever messed with the wrong person!'
