Chapter 2: New World

There I was falling from the endless sky. I thought it was my end and I kept praying while screaming out loud.

Then, out of nowhere, a pair of hands grabbed me and held me at my waist. We flew up to a large island.

"Well, look what we have here." the stranger told me.
I slowly looked up to his face. The kind-hearted, brown-haired boy smiled at me. I noticed he has no wings, only flare and sparkles I see. I gasped.

When we landed on the ground, he smiled and took my hand and dragged me inside a huge diamond-designed castle.

"A, that's not the proper way to treat a lady you know. You could have atleast introduced yourself." I said softly and I parted myself away from him.

"Oh, sorry, Miss, by the way, I'm Kent. And you're..."

"I'm Daphnia, call me Daphne."

"That's really a nice name. How did you get here in our world?"

"Oh, a rainbow colored butterfly led me to the arc stone and I read the writings on it. Pretty crazy right? So, you guys are magical flying creatures?"

"Yes. And you are not dreaming. But seriously, you have to meet the queen. You have extraordinary magic, Daphne. Only flare people can enter and exit through a portal to our world."

"Is that bad?"

"Not actually. You are destined to be here. I-Its a long story..."

"Ok, but I really have to go back in the human world because you know I dont have flare. I can't fly!"

"Only for now!"

I was confused about him saying ' only for now'. Does that mean something?

We walked into a hall and saw a huge door of pearls. It was the way to the center of the castle, the throne room.

"Your highness. The princess had found her destiny..." Kent bowed before a beautiful queen. Her flare is gold and much brighter than the others.

"Wait, what? Princess?" I asked curiously.

"Yes, that's right. I am Queen Celestine. May I know your name?"

"Your highness, please call me Daphne. Can you explain everything?"

"Oh, of course. But not everything, dear. I've got work to do. Alright let's start with our worlds. You see, the human world and our world, also known as Tyclonia, are very close." She showed us a magical image of the distance of the two worlds and the portals. "Flare people can access on these portals to travel to and from the human world or in Tyclonia. But the point is, you got in."

I didn't dare to say something. I was to shocked. However the queen continued.

"The magical butterfly chooses who is deserving to be the heir of the throne. It chose you."

"But why me?"

"The princess can defeat our enemy, my sister who turned evil, upon knowing she is not the heir of the throne. If she takes over our kingdom, she will take over the human world as well, which also leads your friends and family into great danger."the image disappeared. "As soon as your inner flare develops I will guide for the search of my sister."

"So you mean, I am going to be one of you?"

The queen looked at me for awhile.
And then tapped my shoulder and spoke, "Yes. I'll leave you in Kent's good hands. When all of your flare comes out you can start flying lessons with Kent."
