I moved to Woodsboro a few months ago. My parents split up because of their divorce and my dad wanted a fresh start in a new town. It wouldn't take me long to find out about the history of this town.

But then the killing started. Maybe this town was cursed. It was the town's fate to have a killer every ten years. Most of them were copycats. I thought it was stupid. Why not be original?

I moved next door to this guy named Charlie. He seemed nice enough. Just your regular long-haired introvert. I couldn't lie, he was really cute. He caught my eye. I didn't take him as someone smart but then we became friends. But he's extremely smart.

One day after school, my phone starts ringing.

No caller ID

I hesitantly answer.

Wanna play a game, y/n?

"Uhm, sure. Why not."

What's your favorite scary movie?

"Saw three for sure. How about you?"

I walked over to my nightstand, setting a glass of water down. Then I'd sit on the edge of my bed, waiting for a reply.

..Stab 9..

"Oh really? I haven't watched any of the Stab movies. I heard they're the same thing every time. I guess that can get old after a while, especially when the characters don't have much depth."

I heard a click, and I looked down at my phone. Apparently,, the person on the other end of the line didn't like what I thought about the movies. I just shrugged. It didn't matter what they thought.

I laid down and closed my eyes. I kept thinking about the conversation I had over the phone, but soon enough I'd fall asleep.

When I woke up in the morning, I saw I had four missed calls from the number last night. Hmm, weird. But I brushed it off and got up to get dressed. It felt like a Friday morning. I yawned and stretched.

After getting dressed and throwing on makeup, I was off to school. My first period of the day was history. History wasn't my favorite but I didn't mind. Charlie was also in test class.

I walked into the history classroom and found my seat. Half of the time the teacher didn't teach, only tell stories about his military experience in Vietnam. It was easy to get him off track.

My seat was conveniently next to Charlie. I swear teachers somehow just know. I sat down and put my bookbag on the floor. I turned to look at Charlie, I smiled a bit.

"Hey," I say, still smiling.
"Hey, y/n."
"It's like everywhere I go, you're there too. Are you stalking me?" I'd playfully ask.
He'd gulp and turn to look at the teacher, not saying anything else to me.

Maybe he wasn't in the mood to joke. Oh well..
I'd get a text message on my phone, actually from Charlie's parents. They were asking me to babysit his little sister. His parents don't think he's responsible enough. But whatever, as long as I'm getting paid.

The school day felt like it would never end. Everything moved slowly.
But when it finally did, I almost felt relieved. Fridays always felt so long for no reason.

After driving home, I gathered the things I'd need for the night. A charger, and a few other things. I made my way over to Charlie's house.

When I got arrived at the house, it didn't take long for his parents to leave. Now I was here with just Charlie and his little sister.

A few hours go by, and it was now time for his sister to go to bed. I trailed up the stairs and waited for her to sleep.

Once she fell asleep, Charlie called me into his room.

"Y/n, I need to tell you something."

"Yes Charlie?" I'd ask.

"I like you- and before you reject me please just listen. You're gorgeous. But you're not just extremely gorgeous, you're intelligent too. You're the most caring girl I've ever met. I'm so glad you moved here."

"Charlie I-" I didn't know what to say, but I know I liked him too. I grabbed his hand. "I like you too Charlie."
