Zachs POV
I limped down the road. My legs were hurting as shit.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck," I muttered to myself. I guess thats something you do when you're the only person left alive on this earth, talking to yourself.
You maybe find it weird but when you're in my situation -I promise you- you won't.
I kept walking in the middle of the road, imagining what I could be doing right now if that fucking virus -fenix- hadn't killed everyone on this earth. I could be chilling in my bed while listening to my favorite band Gorillaz. I groaned to myself as I automatically began singing one of their songs.
"Dun dududu dun dun, feel good... dun dududu dun dun, feel good,"
I danced a little, laughing to myself as I sang. The only good thing about this virus is that no one can see me right now.
Hours passed of me just walking on this long, never ending road while singing Gorillaz songs.
Soon enough I got hungry. The sun was setting so I moved to the side of the road. Sitting behind an old car. I took out a grey can of food from my big backpack.
"I wonder what mystery food is in here," I grinned to myself as I began opening the can.
Mushroom soup.
Eww...
Growling at myself for thinking, take as much food as possible, I began to eat the mushroom soup with my plastic spoon. I can't just waste it.
Shockingly, I finished the soup. It was gross but I was hungry.
I took out the book I was currently reading. My flashlight shone across the page as I read word after word.
I soon dozed off. I realized that when I woke up the next day, book on my chest and flashlight in left hand.
"Eat my shit," I yawned as I began packing up my stuff again to continue my adventure in search of something I didn't know.
I pulled my backpack, that I had used as a pillow, over my shoulders.
I kept walking until my legs were aching, making me limp. So, once again, I stopped at the side of the road.
I took out my water bottle from my backpack and took a few sips. I looked down on my watch, that shockingly still works.
3 hours.
I had walked for 3 hours.
Only 3 hours?!
I growled again and just when I was about to stand up and begin walking again, like I do everyday, I heard something. Not just some tree branch breaking or the wind moving, hitting me across my face. No...
I heard someone. And that someone sounded like a living human being.
The person was grunting every step they took. Muttering things in an irritated tone.
I quickly took out my gun.
Don't ask me why I have it when I literally thought I was the only human left...
Safety reasons?
Slowly standing up, I pointed my gun at the person. It was a guy that looked to be my age.
Sixteen, seventeen?
He put his hands up in surrender. I could clearly see the fear in his body movements. I took a step forwards, still pointing my gun at him.
"Don't move," I warned, knowing damn well I'd be too scared to pull the trigger. The guy was about to take a step back but stopped himself.
"Don't kill me please," He begged. "I haven't smoked weed with Snoop dogg yet," Scared for his life and still making jokes?
