yamaguchi always knew how to make your day better. He was such a considerate partner to you - always had been. At one point in your relationship he watched a bunch of romantic comedy movies with you, a plan in the back of his mind. You had no idea where he was going with it, of course. After he held a radio up in front of your window, blasting some stupid love song, though, you had your suspicions. He was trying to act out your favorite movie-scenes with you. You'd mentioned how cute it would be for someone to do that once, mostly joking, and now he made it his goal to fulfill your wish.
It was a rainy evening. Water was patting onto the windows, creating the soothing sounds that you've heard so many times before. It slowly trickled down the windows before it splashed onto the windowsills and street, creating small puddles.
You were cozied up on your couch, a fuzzy blanket over your legs which were crossed in a way that would look painful to anyone who saw you, yet you were quite comfortable. yams sat next to you, his sock-covered feet tucked under the same blanket. Both of you were just talking about anything and everything that came to mind. From kageyama stuffing hinita's mouth with tissues , to yam's family and friends all the way to your schedule for the next week - everything came up.
The evening was relaxing. It didn't feel like you needed any form of entertainment. Your conversation being enough to keep you busy and entertained. It was peaceful with him.
You didn't notice the way your boyfriend kept looking out of the window behind you. If you payed a bit more attention you probably would have noticed the wheels in his head visibly turning, but you were too focused on your story about the girl with a pretty hair color you ran into the other day.
Your story got interrupted, though, when yamaguchi slapped his thighs, stood up from his spot on the couch - therefore letting your side feel the loss of his warmth - and reaching out his hands to you. Even though you couldn't tell what he was attempting to do, you still let his outstretched hands slide into yours, lifting you from the place you were sitting. The blanket slid onto the floor, but neither of you cared. The freckled boy's fingers slid between your own, dragging you to the doorway. He only let the touch go for a moment to hand you your jacket.
After both of you put on your jackets and shoes he pulled you outside and onto the street. It was a quiet village street, so there were no cars in sight - especially at this time of day.
You looked up into the sky, feeling the rain dribble onto your forehead. Yet you didn't care. This moment was worth getting wet hair for.
yams watched you as you closed your eyes. He admired the way your eyelashes slowly started to stick together from the wetness of the involuntary shower. He felt his heart flutter at your silent smile, even though it wasn't directed at him but at the moment in general. The young man couldn't help but slide both of his hands onto your waist. With a soft grip he pulled your body close into his - chests touching. Your eyes fluttered open to stare directly into his. You saw nothing but love in his expression.
The kiss came natural. Both of you closed your eyes instantly again. Your lips moving together softly. He kissed you passionately and lovingly. It was as though it was your first kiss. It was as though it could be your last. Your entire body tingled. Your face started to heat up and your heart beat faster with every second your lips touched. You couldn't compare the comfort and safety you felt with him in this moment with anything else.
When you pulled away again it was difficult to hide the smile creeping onto your face. It was hard to see from the wet rain, but you noticed tears on your opposites cheeks. He was smiling brightly. Looking at you with pure love in his eyes. Yet he was crying. There was not a single moment of hesitation when you lifted your hand onto his cheek gently, "Oh, yams , what's wrong."
"I just love you so much, that sometimes I can't keep it all inside of my heart."
You smiled to yourself, hugging your boyfriend tightly, "Come on, baby. Let's get back inside before we both get a cold." He didn't see it, but you had to blink away the tears from the corners of your eyes aswell. On your first date you'd told him that kisses in the rain were something you always wanted to try. You forgot about it for a few years, but you remembered it now. It was almost overwhelming how much you loved the man in front of you. Neither of you cared that you were drenched from the weather. Neither of you cared about the cold winds. All you cared about was each other.
yamaguchi never forgot what you said on your first date. He waited for the right moment for years, because he wanted to make it special. And it sure was special when he slid away from your body, held onto your hands again and got on his knees.
"Marry me? "
