Chp 8: AN unexpected reunion

In Dream

i stood in an empty space, there was nothing in sight.

"how did i get here?" i wondered walking forward.

???: d..daddy?

i stopped. And abruptly turned behind me, just to see something that ran shivers down my spine. it was an eevee, a girl presumably from how her voice sounds, but the thing that scared me was that one of her ears was chewed off and she had bite marks all over her body. she was covered with blood.

"daddy, its you" the eevee smiled with tears flowing down her eyes.

speed: ahhh!!

he stood up eruptly and looked around him, sweating profoundly.

he noticed the girls giving him worried looks as he slowly got up from his blanket.

lazuli: speed, is everything alright?

speed: i..its nothing.

sylvia: you sure?

speed: yeah..

stella: anyway, lets head down for breakfast.

all the mons: okay.

Downstairs

pearl: did something happen? i heard a scream from upstairs.

speed: that would be me, sorry about that.

pearl: are you okay?

speed: just..a bad dream.

black: what kind of bad dream is so bad that it makes you scream?

speed:...

flare: big bro?

speed: its just......that i saw something in my dreams....something bad.

crystal: something bad?

speed: i was alone in the dream, wandering in an endless realm and then i saw an eevee, its ear and paw were missing and it was covered in blood. the worst thing was that the eevee was sunshine.

lazuli: sunshine?

leafy: you mean our sunshine?

speed: no...the sunshine from the original timeline...the...one..i couldn't protect.

he sat down on the table after saying that, head in his paws, looking broken inside.

stella also stood there, sobbing on flors shoulder for the kit she never had. sylvia  and lazuli along with cream and went over to her to comfort her while black and flare went over to speed.

pearl: im so sorry to hear that. would you like breakfast? to cheer you up a bit.

speed looked up and smiled sadly.

speed: sure.

just then a knock was heard on the door and everybody looked at it.

speed; i'll go get it.

he walked into the living room and unlocked the door. there was no one outside. confused he walked outside and looked around him.

speed: no ones here.

as he was about to head back inside something pushed him out from behind and locked the door behind him.

Inside.

pearl: speed is taking a while to come back.

stella: i'll go check on him.
