While there was no doubt that I was absolutely obsessed with Keats Colter, I felt like I was having hot flashes at all that was going on around me. Renovations had begun today, and I had stopped by to see if anyone had needed anything. I had nothing going on, so it was no big deal for me to run down to Kendall Hardware for the men or something like that.
However, when I'd shown up, I'd almost tripped myself at the sight before me. Because Keats had offered up his brothers for the free labor, the Campions hadn't needed to assign a crew to this job, and so the bakery was littered with Campion and Colter men, and I was just fine with never leaving my spot from behind the counter until the end of the day. If they needed a water girl, I could be that.
Dressed in t-shirts with Campion Construction on them, Quest, Ransom, and Bennett Campion were running around, doing their thing. According to Ransom, Zale had some appointments, so he couldn't help today, but he'd be around later. As for Bennett Campion, instead of the black hair and grey eyes combo that his two older brothers shared, he had super light brown eyes, and holy crap. He reminded me of Maxwell Colter in the way that their eyes popped out at you.
As for the free labor, Keats, Jax, Brett, and Clayton were here helping today, and Brett Colter and Clayton Colter looked exactly like the rest of the brothers. However, where Brett had walked over, introduced himself, then thanked me for giving Addie a job, Clayton had just given me a head nod and a grunt, then had immediately gotten to work. If I didn't know better, you'd think that Clayton Colter was in charge of this project and not any of the Campions. Could be because he was the oldest man here, but something told me that Clayton Colter was not one to mess with.
"Quit drooling."
I didn't even bother looking Keats' way. "How can I not?" I asked. "I'm about to take a picture and upload it to the town's webpage for the tourists."
"We don't have tourists," Keats pointed out. "The only tourist that we've had is that asshole ex that knew better than to stay the entire weekend after all."
That got a smirk out of me. "While true, I think a picture of you guys working would definitely bring in some tourists."
"Are you forgetting that I'm the only man that you're supposed to want?" he asked, though there was no real jealousy or heat in his voice.
I finally looked up at him. "You are the only man that I want," I reassured him. "But the sad fact is that my eyes work, Keats. That's something that you're just going to have to accept."
He slapped my ass just as the door opened, causing Bennett to shout, "This is supposed to be a goddamn work zone."
"Fine," the blonde with Addie said. "I'll just take these sandwiches else-"
Whatever she'd been about to say was cut off by the stampede of work boots racing their way towards her. I actually held my breath, hoping that they weren't going to crush her. By the time the men dispersed, Addie and the blonde were left standing with empty platters in both their hands. When I saw Keats with Jax, eating, I looked around, wondering how he'd gotten over there so quickly.
I was still trying to figure it out when Addie and the blonde walked over, the guys shouting their thanks before getting back to work.
"Jesus, what was that?" I whispered as the women set the empty platters down on the counter.
"Growing boys," the blonde replied before reaching her hand out to shake mine.
However, before I could grab her hand, Brett was at her side, kissing her cheek. "Thanks, sis." Then he planted a quick kiss on Addie's lips before going back to work.
