————————————

This is an odd predicament, Wally thought to himself as he stepped out of Home and started towards your house/shop.

See, Barnaby had convinced him to finally ask you out. He wanted to do this the proper way: showing up at your door with a bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates.

He had purchased the box of chocolates from Howdy a few days ago. He had gotten (favorite chocolate), as he remembered it was your favorite chocolate. Howdy had wished him good luck, but informed Wally that Howdy's Place was currently out of flowers.

And there was only one other place in the neighborhood for him to get them.

He breathed in a slow breath as he approached your door. Your shop was just as lovely as you were. A sign hanging just above the door read "Y/n's Flowers," in (favorite color) text. You had planted pretty flowers up and down the walkway to the door as well.

Wally pushed the door open.

—————-

I was busy watering some of my flowers when I heard the front door open. I turned and smiled, seeing none other than Wally Darling walking into my shop. He gave me a little wave.

"Hello, Wally! What a pleasant surprise! I didn't have any orders placed today and wasn't really expecting anyone," I explained. "How may I help you today?"

Wally smiled. "Oh, this was.. a last minute choice," Wally chuckled. "Say, do you have any (favorite flowers) in stock?" Wally tugged on his tie.

"Oh, yes, I do! What a coincidence, those are my favorites! They're so pretty," I gushed. "Ah, let me go find those for you, my friend. I'll just be a moment." I hopped over to another isle in search for Wally's requested flowers.

("Yes, what a coincidence indeed," Wally mumbled, fidgeting with his hands now.)

After a moment, I returned with a crate of (favorite flowers). "Just take however many you need," I hummed.

"Oh, actually, is there any way you can help me make a bouquet? It only needs one more kind of flower. (Favorite color) roses, if you have them in stock?" Wally smiled apologetically.

"Oh, of course. They're just right over here. I'll have the bouquet ready in just a moment."

—————-

This was rather awkward for Wally. Watching you make the bouquet he was planning to present to you as a gift later this afternoon. Oh, it was odd indeed.

You had collected the needed flowers and were now behind the counter of your shop, humming softly to yourself as you put Wally's requested bouquet together. He couldn't help but stare. You looked so nice here, in your element. You loved flowers and gardening so much.

Wally wondered what song you were humming.

—————-

I finished up the bouquet Wally ordered with a red bow around the bottom. It was a very pretty bouquet indeed. I was proud of my work.

"Have a good day, dear neighbor! Don't hesitate to ask me if you need anything else." I handed Wally the bouquet and waved as he made his way back to the entrance.

"Bye bye! Thank you, neighbor," Wally responded, waving back to me. The door creaked as he closed it behind him.

——————-

It was time.

Gosh, Wally was nervous. He had spent a few hours rehearsing with Sally, but that didn't make him any less afraid.

Wally knocked on your door and held the bouquet and chocolates out in front of him. He hoped he didn't mess this up.

(The other neighbors were watching from the house next door. Julie had snuck over to your place a while ago while Sally was helping Wally practice and placed a Walkie-Talkie in one of your bushes. Now they all gathered at the window, listening in through the other walkie-talkie.)

—————

I had been catching up on some reading when I heard knocking at my door. I laid the book open on my bed and got up to answer it.

When I opened the door, I had to resist the urge to gasp. I just knew I was blushing.

Wally stood at my door, a box of (favorite chocolate) and the bouquet I made earlier held out in front of him. It looked like his hands were shaking.

"Hello, Wally! What're you doing here?" I leaned against the door frame in attempt to look relaxed. I wasn't sure it was working.

"Y/n, I have to ask you something," Wally exhaled. "When you first moved into the neighborhood, I was immediately intrigued. You caught my eye. Something about you seemed different. So, obviously, I set out to befriend you. We started hanging out more, and I'm so happy that we did.

You're a wonderful person. You make me happy. And it doesn't hurt that you constantly smell like flowers," Wally chuckled nervously. "What Id like to ask you is.. would you like to go on a date with me sometime-?"

I stood in silence for a moment. Then, I gently took the bouquet and chocolates from him and sat them on the floor next to me.

I pulled Wally into a tight hug and smiled when he went limp. "Sure I will, Wally. And thank you for the bouquet," I giggled.

(The neighbors cheered. Sally and Julie clasped their hands together and jumped up and down, squealing; Howdy smiled and shook his head, muttering, "finally!"; Eddie and Frank were softly chuckling, their arms wrapped around one another.)
