Min Yoongi was a notorious f*ckboy. Practically everyone at your school had a fat crush on him. Honestly, he was the whole package: a basketball player, actually did well in school and loved music. But people also knew there was no point getting attached, but that didn't stop them of course. Anyone would be lucky to have over a week with him. They also knew that if he randomly started talking to you, it was a ruse to get you in bed with him, and he'd forget all about it the next day — which always ended up in tears and a very one-sided argument.
Now you seemed to be an exception. Of course Yoongi had friends, but he also liked talking to you too, which would often draw jealous eyes. It would be fine if you didn't have a fat crush on him...but you did. All the conversations you had with him fuelled your fantasies that maybe he'd change for you.
It was a normal school day for you, you were in the library, your textbooks open ready for studying—or procrastinating.
"Hey y/n!" you heard your best friend Jungkook call rather loudly, earning a hush from the librarian.
He quietly bowed and joined you at the table you were working at.
"So are you studying your phone?" he asked cheekily with a raised brow.
You glared at him, locking your phone and plonking it on the table. "No, I was only on it while waiting for you."
Jungkook giggled and you both started studying, sometimes talking about what you both did last night until someone joined you.
"Ah my nerd friends," you knew that deep voice, your head shooting up to see Yoongi, who was also hushed by the librarian.
"Nerd friends?" you questioned, as he leaned on the table with his hands, "it's not like you don't get good grades too."
"Yes, but you can't call me a nerd with my reputation," he replied as you shook your head lightly, but your heart beat faster from his gaze.
"To what do we owe the pleasure?" Jungkook asked sarcastically.
"I need a pen," he answered shortly.
You rummaged around in your pencil case before handing him a biro. "Here."
Yoongi took the pen from your hand and pointed it directly at you. "I knew I could count on you," he smirked.
Trying your best to contain the blush on your face, and failing miserably, you watched as he stalked confidently put the library.
"I see you crush on him hasn't gone away," Jungkook said while looking down at his work.
"It doesn't just disappear smart-ass."
He sighed, looking back up at you. "You need to get over him, he's no good and you know that."
"I know," you said, your palms brushing over your face, "but I guess I can't get over him until I shoot my shot."
"I guess there is some truth to that," Jungkook hesitantly replied, "I just don't want you to get hurt."
You smiled at Jungkook, appreciating his care for you.
Jungkook had left about an hour ago for his lesson while you still worked hard on your own. Out of your peripheral vision, which was straining across the inked pages of your notebook, you saw your pen placed on the table along with a small cake in a shimmery wrapper. You looked up and saw Yoongi's confident figure smiling down at you.
"What's this for?" you asked through a smile while picking up the cake.
"Just a small thank you gift," he shrugged.
