Tanjiro sat up, and stared at Zenitsu for a while. He was still asleep, so Tanjiro got up, and got on top of him. Feeling someone suddenly holding him down, Zenitsu slowly opened his eyes to see Tanjiro on top of him.
"T-Tanjiro-Kun?!" Zenitsu looked at Tanjiro, with a hint of shock on his face. "Ah, you finally woke up..." Tanjiro said, smirking. They stared into each other's eyes for a while, and then Tanjiro slowly started to lean in towards Zenitsu, and before Zenitsu could know it, they kissed.
But, Zenitsu didn't push Tanjiro away. Instead, he kissed him back softly. They kissed each other for a few more seconds, and then eventually Tanjiro pulled away.
"Tanjiro-Kun..." Zenitsu said, tears forming in his eyes. "Yes, Zenitsu?" Tanjiro replied. "I don't want myself to get attached to you all over again...I have to kill you..." Hearing this, Tanjiro just smiled. "I know, so I'm going to do everything I wanted to do before I died...Like visiting the flower garden, kissing you, and lastly...I wanted to confess." Tanjiro got off of Zenitsu and sat next to him.
"Zenitsu...I like you. I've liked you ever since I've first met you. At first, when you said you liked my sister..I got jealous. I wanted you to myself, I don't want anybody else to have you.." Tanjiro chuckles, and continues. "But, that doesn't really matter now, does it?"
Tanjiros sighs. "Tanjiro-Kun..." Zenitsu bursts with tears. "W-What do you mean?! It matters to me!" Tanjiro looks at Zenitsu. "Zenitsu, I'm going to die..it doesn't matter if anybody else has you now. You said you wanted to get married before you die, right? Well..you can do just that."
Tanjiro smiles, and before Zenitsu could reply, he continues. "Don't say anything else, just go to sleep. I have to die tomorrow anyways, right?"
Zenitsu nods. "Y-Yes..." Zenitsu looks down. "B-But..." He looks back up at Tanjiro. "Today is your last day, it's the morning... you don't have anything else you want to do before you die?" Zenitsu says, hopefully.
"Well, yes. Actually, I do." Tanjiro smiles.
-TIME SKIP TO NIGHT TIME-
Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke arrive home after their long day.
"Let's go to sleep now, okay?" Tanjiro says, smiling warmly. But, something tugs lightly on his kimono. Tanjiro turns around, and sees its Nezuko. "Ah, Nezuko...Do you need something?" He kneels down in front of Nezuko.
"Onii-Chan, I don't want you to die.." Nezuko says after taking off her bamboo muzzle. Tanjiro, hearing this, remembers that he was the only family she had left.
"Ah, well, Nezuko...you see, I won't die. Trust me." He smiles, having a plan.
