There are four classes that make the society in Joseon. Yangban, the nobles, Jungin, the middle class, Sangmin, the commoners and Cheonmin, the outcasts at the very bottom. Slaves are below all of them.
Society is ruled by the yangban, who constitute 10% of the population and has several privileges.
