Chapter One *+:｡.｡ Beans & Butterflies

    The baking sun hits the windows of apartments, signaling the new day...

BEEP! BEEP!

    ...unless you have an alarm... And are a college student...

BEEP! BEEP!

    "Come on, come on!" an annoyed mumble coming from Adam as he stuffs his face into the pillow, "just-! Five more minutes!"

BEEP! BEEP!

    "UGH" His hand blindly hits the area around the alarm, finding its place on it and some more blind hitting before finally hitting the snooze button. Adam sighs as he flips himself over, lazily looking over to the window as a creak of light simmers through. Sighing again, Adam finally gets up from his bed with a bit of protest and drags himself across the room to put some blandish clothes on.

    Pulling on his shirt, he looks over to his night desk, the calendar above it stating the date: MONDAY... Of course, he thinks, placing on his shoes and heading out the room's door.

              Why couldn't school end a "couple" months early?

    The sun is up, not all the way, but the baked skies fly in. It's light showing all in the roads, even the small café nearby.

    The sweet smell of coffee runs through the air, the quiet hum of others talking, the ding of the bell. It's lovely. It truly is.

DING!

    Adam walks through to the café of Morningside Café, he does this every day. A routine is in place by this point, he knows everyone here and everyone knows him. He doesn't even have to say anything to get his desired coffee.

    However this time it's a bit different. He doesn't know the barista this time... He seems new - like new, new.

    The ring of the bell above the door gives the barista's attention to the "new" customer, "Oh, hello there! I'm Julien, what would you like to order?"

    "..a muffin a-and a medium white chocolate mocha please.. w-with a couple of creamers, if you can."

    "Of course! Name?"

    "Uh, Adam."

    The new barista, Julien, gives him a thumbs up as he writes down his name and makes a shooing hand motion as Adam stands there unknowing of what to do.

    While Adam was just standing, he was mentally yelled at himself for sounding so weak. He was so used to not having to say his order and being comfortable with the other baristas that he forgot how to even say it. Stupid, stupid, stupid~ The words sing in his head as he finds a place to sit by the sun and goes on his phone.

    Ugh, who's this new guy? And why's he here, never saw a hiring poster or anything so how come he's here now?

    Adam didn't hold onto the thought for long, shaking it away as soon as it came. He shouldn't care, he could ask the others for what time Julien comes in so he could ignore him, It's enough social interaction with the guy for only one order so meeting him again would be a headache.

    The world around him becomes a hum of noise as he scrolls through his phone to pass the time, class starts soon, so why not have some phone time beforehand? Being so preoccupied with his phone, he doesn't even realize the ding of the bell and the annoying sound of one... guy - he knows...

    "Hello there!" Julien repeats his greetings once again, "I'm Julien, what would you like to order?"

    "WELL," the voice bringing Adam out of his trance, oh godddddd... Not this guy... He continues on, "Two juices and a cookie. OH, and a medium black coffee with three creamers!"

    "Of course, and name?" Somehow, Julien doesn't seem annoyed at this figure which is nothing but annoying.

    "Ricardo." He says with a matter-of-fact voice. And again, Julien gives a thumbs up as Ricardo walks over to Adam. Don't... Don't tell me he's coming over here... Anddddd here he comes... lovely... Just what I needed to start the day... Wait - why is he even here he doesn't even like coffee-
"Well, hellooooo there... Adrian."

    "Adam."

    "Adam, right. Of course, too many people's names start with A... Like you'd know that." Ricardo trying to shift the blame onto Adam, of course, classic Ricardo.

    "Whatever man, what are you doing here? Thought you said you didn't like coffee."

    "Well people change, Adr- Adam."

    "That was three days ago." Seriously, how do people not get tired of this guy?

    "Like I said, ADAM. People CHANGE, like you'd know! Always stuck in your little bubble of yours." Muttering the sentence as if it was some derogatory term, "Just pop the thing for once!"

    Before Adam could snap back he heard his name being called by Julien, saved by the bell. Giving Ricardo a little wave and quickly speed-walks over to the counter.

    "Anddd for Mr. Adam!" Julien says handing over his coffee and a bag of a muffin.

    "Ah, thank you," Adam replied, giving Julien a small nod of approval before quickly leaving, no longer wanting to stay with... it.

    The ding of the bell above the door reminded Adam about everything that just had happened, and he left. Hands full of coffee and food.

    What an odd interaction, luckily I won't have to go through that again! He gives a small laugh to himself as he walks towards his school, early in the warming, rosy skies.

    Sitting down in his seat he finds himself staring at the boy from the café, Julien, sitting in front of him...

You're kidding...

Why can't school just end, or can I just die now?

[ A/N, First Chapter Re-write!... again.. Ignore the pervious chapter one, this one is better constructed then the first one ( i hope... i think- ) and so sorry for leaving this book in the dust! I have been losing motivation fast and have not been wanting to continue this but now I have found motivation again and hope to milk it this time. Tell me what you guys think about the chapter, and please, do be honest! Well then, until chapter two! ]
