RIDDLE

There was once a group of students who were climbing Mount Everest with their teacher. There were 8 children on the trip. The teacher had asked the students to camp with him at a little cave on the mountain. They were really hungry and there was nothing to eat. When they came back a reporter noticed only 7 children came back. "Where's the eight child?" He asked the teacher. "He said he was going for a little stroll and he never came back" the teacher replied. One of children went mad for some reason. So the reporter had gone to the hospital where the child was staying and when he came to the room he saw the child banging his head on the wall saying "eight, eight, eight, eight..."

they had eaten the eight child. "eight" sounds like "ate". They had eaten the eight child to survive...
