"Setsuko-chan!" Hinatsuru called to the now 13 year old girl.
"Hina-kaa-san." The girl walked into the room. Her midnight blue locks now adjourned her shoulders and went down her back and her crimson eyes blazed with flashy passion. "You needed something?"
"Could you go pick some flowers from the garden to replace the ones in the vase?"
"Sure! Be back in a flash," Setsuko beamed and dashed out of the room. She went out into the garden and picked a small bouquet of red and blue roses. Tying them up with a blue bow, she placed then gently in a vase filled with water.
"Setsuko-chan!!" a voice called out to her from a different room. Inside she found Suma seated on the bed in tears.
"Suma-kaa-san? What's wrong?" The girl rushed to her.
"Setsuko-chan look!" Suma held out her hand to show a small scratch. "I fell and hurt my hand! Please help me!"
Setsuko took on a proud grin. "Of coarse! The Princess of Festivals never backs down from a challenge!" she said haughtily.
In truth, when the Uzui family first took in Setsuko, she was a humble well cultured child. She never spoke out of turn and was respectful to everyone and everything. She was also very polite. And as much as they loved her personality, it seemed kind of.... blunt.
She was the daughter and Tsuguko of Sound Pillar Tengen Uzui after all, she had to at least act the part. The child was easily influenced, so after spending just two years in the manor she had already learnt how to be flamboyant, or in her own catchphrase: colorful, in everything she said, thought and did. Although that meant she could be a bit over confident and proud at time, Tengen and his three wives loved her all the same.
Setsuko took a deep breath. She held Suma's hand close to her and focused solely on it. When she was sure she was under control she opened her mouth and sung:
Come stop your crying, it'll be alright
Just take my hand, hold it tight
I will protect you from all around you
I will be here, don't you cry. With those four lines alone Setsuko stopped and smiled. The scratch on Suma's hand disappeared, healing as though it was never there. "Thank you Setsuko-chan~" the woman cooed.
Setsuko huffed. "Of coarse! Its my job to make sure there's peace in my kingdom! No scratch can get past me!"
"SUUMAAA!!" A third voice was heard howling from anther point in the large mansion. Suma froze, afraid for her life. Makio came storming into the room seconds later. She glared daggers at her fellow wife. "What did we say about using Setsuko-chan's gift unnecessarily?"
"But my hand was hurt!" Suma cried."It hurt so baaad!! And Setsuko-chan didn't have a problem with it. Right?"
"Makio-kaa-san, Suma-kaa-san was hurt," Setsuko started. "And as Princess of Festivals its my duty to make sure all my subjects are okay!" She puffed out her chest.
Makio's expression softened. She poked the child in the chest, "Of coarse it is."
"I'm home!"
Setsuko gasped as she quickly ran out of the room. She turned from the mighty princess of festivals to a giddy little child in half a second. "Otou-san!!" She ran to the Sound Pillar and tackled him in a hug. Tengen picked her up in his arms.
"Hey there, Setsuko-chan. I trsut you've been flamboyantly watching over our kingdom?" he asked with a proud smile.
"Mm-hm! Mm-hm! I saved Suma-kaa-san from suffering a fatal injury!" Setsuko acclaimed.
