Chapter 3

    Veronica loved it when Helen laughed and Helen laughed a lot. Helen laughed about every little thing. spilling her drink, mistakenly hitting her hand on the door, excusing herself to use the bathroom.
    She just laughed
    Veronica was in aware of her, how can someone laugh so much and how could she stand people touching her all the time and asking for pictures and autographs?, Veronica wondered.
      Hours later, they walked out of the eatery together.
      Veronica realized that Helen was wearing a very short gown and a fur jacket with black heels. She could never be confident enough to wear that out.
       "Give me your number",Helen said passing her iphone to Veronica.
   Veronica's eyes widened
   "What?",she asked.
      "Let's exchange contacts", Helen answered patiently.
        Veronica took the phone reluctantly and stared at it as if it would turn into a monster in her hands.
      The  whole time, Helen stood staring at her, waiting patiently.
     She finally typed her number and handed the phone back to Helen.
     Helen took the phone from her and typed quickly on her phone then she turned to Veronica and held up her phone.
      " I just sent you a message on Whatsapp", she said with a bright smile.
       Veronica just stared at her not knowing what to say.
        Helen grinned and placed her palms on both sides of  veronica's face
   "It was wonderful meeting you and we are going to be best friends",she said and pecked veronica's nose.
      Veronica stood there long after Helen had walked away, shock making her immobile.

       Veronica dropped her laptop on the table and took off her top, flinging it on the bed and sat on the floor.
           She flashed back to her encounter with Helen and blushed.
Her body felt hot and tight, she took off her bra and placed it on the bed.
Her nipples were erect, she refused to touch herself.
       She closed her eyes and tried to recall everything she had read.
     "Don't think about it, it's not real, it's a sin, don't act on it and it will go away, you've come this far", she whispered to herself over and over again until tears spilled from her eyes.
      Her phone rang startling her.
She sniffled and picked it up, the caller ID said it was an unknown number but she had a fair idea of who it was.
         She wiped her tears quickly and accepted the call.
        "Hello?", She said tentatively.
        "Hello to you too", came the loud response on the other end.
        " Urm.... Hi",she said straighting her back.
         " You are so awkward, it's hard not to tease you ", Helen laughed.
         Veronica did not know the response she was supposed to give so she was silent, she fiddled nervously with a loose wool on her track bottoms.
          " Come out with me tonight, there's this nice bar close to my place. Let's go there, loosen up a little", Helen said.
       " Oh, no..... I don't go out to bars", Veronica answered quickly
    We've only just met,how can she just ask me to go out with her, she thought to herself.
          " Oh.....where do you stay?",Helen asked.
      " Main street, why?"
      " I will come over then, send me your address and expect me by 9. I will bring the drinks"
      " No,,,,i,,,,, hello?"
Veronica stared at her phone in shock
    " Did she just invite herself?, Wow",she muttered.
               Veronica was still in shock when she cleaned up the house and prepared for her new friend's visit.
  Obviously there was no getting rid of Helen Suki and she was honestly too exhausted to even bother about their forced friendship.
    She took her time in sending her address to Helen,she freshened up and sat at her work table and opened her laptop. She then searched for Helen suki the actress, something she had been wanting to do since she heard she played the character of rose in the movie made from her book.
       Veronica was impressed,she read as much as she could about Helen. Past relationships, studies,age, birthday,likes and dislikes. She then moved to YouTube and searched for the Hara-kiri for the first time since it was released.
      She had never watched any of the movies acted based on her books, she was too scared to see what she would find.
        In the hara-kiri, Helen acted the character of rose with so much clarity that it was obvious she had taken her time to analyze rose's character.
        "Really impressive", Veronica said to herself and even found herself smiling a few times during the movie.
       Her doorbell rang suddenly.
       She looked up so fast from her laptop that she nearly broke her neck.
She stood up and walked cautiously to the door
      "W...who is it?",she asked.
         "It's Helen! Are you expecting anyone else?", Veronica heard the laughter in Helen's voice.
    She opened the door and Helen walked in so fast that Veronica fell back a few steps away from the door.
      "I'm sorry, i am on disguise", she said laughing as if that was enough excuse for her behavior.
      "Okay,urm.....come in and sit", Veronica offered feebly.
        " Wow! Your place is WOW! ", Veronica screamed.
       " Please, it's.... It's just a small place but thank you", Veronica said fighting not to cover her ears.
       " Do not be modest, my place is not as lovely, give me a tour", Helen shouted.
       Veronica grimaced and took her around the place with no door standing in their way, still it took them close to an hour.
