The sun had just set as Hall and his team were approaching the Garnecian border. Neither side, Coven nor Templar, watched the border as the presence of either would cause tensions to be even higher so as a result it was a giant wall, over four hundred foot high but as no one ever went near it, except scavengers or raiders, it had fallen into disrepair and was filled with holes big enough to drive through. It was assumed that trespassing would not happen due to the terms of the treaty as the penalty was death and it could start an all-out war between the two capitals. This is where we need to be careful said Hall Activate our long-range scanners. The last thing we need is to be moved on by raiders. No matter how well we operate if we have to defend ourselves against raiders we will surely alert the Coven

Kate did as she was instructed and turned on the scanners. This would pick up anything moving within a mile radius. The docks were only a short drive south from the border and was relatively close to the Capital so if they were spotted by the Coven the Night Wardens would be on them in no time. We will head through the forest as not to be seen. We cant risk being on the main roads. If we go through this forest, we should end up at the road just North of the docks and we will remain concealed in the treeline until the transport passes. Explained Hall, studying the holo-map.

Again, Kate followed his order and proceeded through the forest and as they approached the tree line both the SUV and the Golem slowed to a halt. The Golem was a small armoured transport that could carry two people only. It was a light attack vehicle armed with two miniguns and anti-vehicle rockets, but it was also armed with an EMP cannon which would disable anything electrical, for a short time, without causing any damage so it was ideal for this mission.

Golem hold this position. Kill the ignition and set the stun on your rifles. Be ready to fire the EMP when the transport passes. Hall ordered.

They didnt have long to wait for as they had finished arming the rifles the scanner on the SUV picked up the prisoner transport. We have incoming said Kate. Its the Coven transport, right on time. Nice of them to be punctual for us.

Bennet, Rico, get that EMP ready to fire!

Yes Rankin, armed and ready! replied Bennet.

The white Coven van was about to pass their position and as it did the Golem fired its EMP cannon and the van slowed to a stop after the shell found its mark. As it did all four Templars departed their vehicles and had their weapons readied, all trained on the door of the Coven transport.

The passenger exited the vehicle and opened the engine bay, scratching his head as he had no idea what was wrong. The driver then dropped the window and they appeared to be conversing.

This was the Templars best chance! If they acted now they could knock out both in quick succession! Otherwise they would no doubt alert the nearby docks.

Halls squad knew this and in two quick blasts of energy, one from Kates rifle and one from Ricos, both prison guards collapsed to the ground as they were hit by the blasts. Bennet and Hall quickly placed a suppression collar on each of them. Lets hope there are enough prisoners in the back of that van. Kate, Rico, you two go and check the van, me and Bennet will shift these two into the SUV. On that order Kate and Bennet slowly approached the rear of the Coven van with both their weapons held high.

On my count. said Kate as she grabbed the handle of the rear door. Bennet was standing a short distance away with his rifle aimed at the door, ready for whatever was inside as Kate began her count. Hall had joined them while Rico was guarding the two captives at the SUV and watching the long-range sensor map in case they had company. Three, Two, One! Kate pulled the door back with Hall and Bennet moving in with their rifles aimed into the back of the van. There were four vampires chained against rails inside a cage in the back of the van. Two male and two females.
