Chapter 1

When I get to Forks, Washington it's raining, big surprise there. I look at my phone.

"Damn, it's five in the morning." I say aloud. "Well I'm not going to school today. Let's wander."

I start my motorcycle again and head towards the Quileute Reservation, in La Push, because they have a beach. After a while I hear a howl from the woods. Hmmm. I park my motorcycle and follow the howl to the middle of the forest. I hear the howl again but there's more to follow, then I notice the 5 wolves.

"Huh." The wolves look at me. " Last time I was here there weren't this many shifters." The large black wolf, who I think is the alpha, cocks his head at me. I see his eyes.

"Sammy?" I whisper. The alpha walks behind a tree and shifts back. Sam Uley walks out.

" Guys it's okay. Shift back." Sam says to the other guys. They shift back. He looks at me. " Ash, what are you doing back?"

"I ran away." I reply, shrugging.

"You ran away from Steve and Lia? Sam asks.

"No, they are dead."

"Then who did you run away from?" he asks.

"Foster family." I say bluntly.

"Ash, lift the glamour you have on." Sam asks quietly.

"I don't want to..." I reply but I lift the glamour anyway. I look up at Sam.

"Sam, who is she?" Someone says harshly. I flinch.

Sam looks at him. "Paul, this is Ash... Black." The guy named Paul gives me a funny look.

"No, I'm not related to Billy or Jacob." I say, looking bored.

"I didn't ask you that," Paul says bluntly, "how did you know that?"

"Ah shit." I look at Sam. "A little help? No? Fine. I can read, hear, and manipulate thoughts among other things."

"What the fuck. You're not a leech right?" Paul asks.

"I'm not a leech." I say smirking.

"Sam, why is she smirking?" Paul says freaking out.

"I'm not human either." I reply. I take one look at his expression and I bust out into laughter. Sam gives me a look. "Paul you made the funniest face at that statement, you also look scared." I say dying of laughter.

"Then what are you?" Paul asks

I give Sam a look. "I'm not telling!" I say grinning, "One, I don't know you. Two, the others haven't introduced themselves yet. Three, Sam knows what I am but he can't say it without my permission."

"Anyway. Ash, you have a black eye." Sam says. "Is that why you ran away?"

"Sort of." I answer. "I got sick of foster care."

"What do you mean?"

"Sam, I have been in foster care since I was two." I sigh.

"Why?"

"Mum and dad were murdered." I say uncomfortable. "I witnessed it..."

"Who did it?" Sam asks

"Hunters." I respond. "Although I think my uncle had something to do with it so he could get the throne."

"Hmm." Sam says. " Has your uncle done anything?"

" You mean besides having me kidnapped, put in foster care, have some foster homes sell me to random, creepy men? Other than that... no." I reply.

"Ash, are you okay?" Sam asks.

"Honestly?" I ask, " I don't know." Sam walks towards me and hugs me.

"Ash." Sam says. "Why don't you come stay with me?"

"Thanks but I already have a place to stay." I feel bad for lying to him. "I should probably be leaving."

"Okay, bye Ash." Sam says waving

I start walking out of the forest, I stop and turn around. "Bye San, Paul, Jared, Quill and Embry." I smirk at their expressions and run away. Their faces when I said the other three guys' names without them introducing themself was funny.

I hide out in the forest until Sam and the pack leave. By the time the pack leaves the forest it is dark. I start walking to my motorcycle. I mumble under my breath, "I feel bad for lying to Sam but he can't know that I'm living on the streets for a while."

"I've learned over time in foster care that people don't actually want me there, so I would feel like I'm in the way and they don't want me in their house if I were to live with Sam and Emily. I get on my motorcycle and ride back into Forks to eat some food. I stop at the only diner in Forks to eat. Once I am finished eating I pay the bill and head for the forest on this side of the treaty line. Yes I know about the treaty and there are very many vague points that the Quiluetes made but I'm not going to tell them.

Once I find a good spot I hid my motorcycle in some brush and other things. I start walking into the forest to find a nice spot to sleep. I sit down at the base of a tree and stop doing an illusion to look human. I am half Angel and half Demon. I am a hybrid, the only of my kind. My appearance is interesting. I have pitch black hair, small horns on my forehead, my eyes are a brilliant, glowing blue and my skin is a golden honey color. I have wings. Large, feathery wings. Once is pure white and the other is the darkest black. My "human" form I use has pitch black hair, bright blue eyes and golden honey colored skin. No wings or horns and my height in both forms is 5'3" . Yeah, I'm a little short. I know. I slowly fall asleep to the whispers of the forest. I sleep peacefully for once.

Rando POV ( Jasper Hale)

A couple of days ago Alice said that my mate was coming to Forks. After that one vision she couldn't see anything else about her other than that she is beautiful.

"Does anyone want to go hunting with me?" I ask aloud. Everyone in the family says no. I start running in the forest when I smell something that smells wonderful, it doesn't smell like blood but it does at the same time. It smells like lavender, hibiscus, and a musky earthy smell. I follow the scent and I see a girl peacefully sleeping. I then notice something, she has wings. Woah.

"You know it's considered rude to stare." A beautiful voice says. It was the girl, she opened her eyes.

Ash POV

I was peacefully sleeping when I sensed something or someone near me. It didn't feel like it was an animal or human. And since I was on the "vampire side" of the treaty, it must be a vampire. I could feel them staring while my eyes are still closed. "You know it's considered rude to stare." I say. After a moment I opened my eyes and see a very handsome guy. He's pale, has golden eyes and honey blonde hair that is shoulder length.

'Oooo he cute. Shut up brain' I think.

"Sorry ma'am." He says. He has an accent.

'Even better an accent. Damn it brain'

"What's your name, sir?" I ask.

"It's Jasper ma'am." Jasper replies.

"It's nice to meet you Jasper, my name is Ash." I say. We are silent for a moment.

"You best be going on to your hunting." I say.

"I should." Jasper replies. " Goodbye."

"Goodbye." I say. After he runs away I fall back to sleep.
