SOUKOKU FANFIC: Hospital Visit

Dazai's Stupidity

Chuuya was just working in his office, until he gets a phone call. He holds a cigarette in hand, propping his boots onto his desk before he picks up the phone.

Chuuya: "Hello? Who's this?"

He waits for the other person to respond. Once he hears what the other person had to say, his heart drops and before he realizes, a tear rolls down his cheek.

Chuuya: "What... what do you mean that bastards in the hospital?! Which..... one"

As soon as Chuuya knows where Dazai is located, he drops everything he was doing and rushes out to visit him. It's clear he truly cares for Dazai despite acting like they're complete enemies.

Chuuya arrives to the hospital within twenty minutes, before visiting hours even start. As soon as they open it for visitors, he rushes to Dazai's hospital room, holding flowers in his hand as he bursts into the door. Dazai is a bit startled by the sudden door flying open, but he smiles when he sees who it is.

Chuuya: "Bastard... you scared me.."

Chuuya walks up to the bed, he pulls up a stool and just lays his head by Dazai's legs, flowers still in hand.

Dazai: "Does it look like I meant to end up here? It's so boring.."

Chuuya: "You were reckless enough to end up here.."

Chuuya sits up and plants a soft kiss on Dazai's forehead. He gives Dazai the flowers with a slight smile.

Chuuya: "Dumbass... you can't die on me just yet"

Chuuya just relaxes on Dazai's lap, sighing while he just sits there. Dazai sets the flowers to the side before speaking.

Dazai: "Don't fall asleep now, otherwise I wouldn't have any company~"

Chuuya just scoffs before he looks at Dazai.

Chuuya: "You're making it hard for me to be worried for you"

Dazai: "Come on Chuuuuuyaaaaaaaa... this is one of the only times you've come to visit me! I might as well make the most of it..."

Chuuya: "You could've just asked if you wanted me to visit.... bastard.."

The banter between the two goes on for a few minutes, but they both know they don't mean any of the things they say that are somewhat hurtful. Chuuya places a hand on Dazai's cheek and caresses it gently, he doesn't say anything but his hand rests there for a few moments. Dazai pulls Chuuya in for a small but soft and tender kiss on the lips, they both had been waiting to do so, the two just sit with each other until the sun sets. The sunset is a shade of red and purple, a beautiful sight.

Chuuya: "Visiting hours are over soon, you know"

Dazai: "Then sneak me out, I hate it here anyway"

Chuuya: "You are so lucky that I don't want you here in this nasty hospital..."

Despite the idiotic idea, the two end up leaving the hospital through the window, leaving everything behind except themselves. They grab some street food before watching the sunset on the walk home. They hold each others hand in their own as they walk home, ending their eventful day with a peaceful and tender moment, not paying attention to anything but one another as they end their day.
