"I can't believe you didn't tell me he was in London!" Carla was pacing around her living room, trying very hard not to yell at Lù.

"And hello to you too sunshine. I see he finally worked up the nerves to see you." The brunette seemed pretty amused which only fueled her annoyance.

"What do you mean finally? When did he arrive?" Lù cleared her throat.

"I don't know..."

"Lù." She heard her sigh and rolled her eyes at the audacity.

"Fine, he's been there for three days already." Carla gripped her phone a little tighter. Three days. She didn't know how to feel about that. All she could hold on to, was her anger.

"Why didn't you tell me?" She tried to sound severe and upset, but even she could hear the tiredness in her own voice. This situation drained her. Not as much as missing him does. She pinched the bridge of her nose. This inner battle of hers was giving her a headache.

"He's my friend too, I couldn't." The softness in Lù's voice was soothing. She let herself fall onto the couch.

"You've known me longer."

"Don't start." They both laughed. "How do you feel?" Carla let out a deep sigh, her free hand smoothing her hair back as she tried to voice everything that she's been feeling ever since she saw him. Surprise, amusement, anger, longing, lust... Samuel really knew how to drive her crazy. It was unfair really how he remained in her heart and in her mind all these years. She used to crave for this but now that he was here, seven fucking years later, she wished he'd stayed in Madrid. She wished he wouldn't have come here, claiming she's the love of his life as if he hadn't been just fine this past seven years without her.
"Carla?" She ran a hand through her hair, another sigh leaving her mouth.

"I don't know Lù... I mean I was surprised at first and it felt good to see him but mostly I was mad, I still am. I'm just so mad at him..."

"Heard you slapped him hard." A chuckle escaped her.

"He told you?"

"Nah, we have a rule, I'm here for you and Guzman's here for him." The blonde groaned, her head in her hand.

"So Guzman is in this too?" Lù let out a chuckle of her own.

"Oh babe, we're ALL in this. We're holding our breath out here." Carla groaned once more.

"This is ridiculous. That asshole can't think he can just come here, out of nowhere, after SEVEN fucking years and expect us to be back together."

"Well that asshole as you so kindly call him, just wants you back into his life really, you two are meant to orbit around each other, don't even try to deny it. No one is telling you to marry him, but maybe, just maybe, it would do you both a lot of good to be friends again. So be as bitchy as you feel like being cause he's not going anywhere."

"We were never friends." She hung up, not bothering to bid her goodbyes, Lù would know not to take it personally. She had a lot of overthinking coming and she already was so tired.
Just as she was about to go to bed her phone vibrated, not once but twice. She didn't bother to unlock it as she could read both texts on the screen. The first was from Samuel, asking if she was free for an "apologetic lunch" tomorrow and the second from Luke, saying goodnight with heart-eyes emojis. A deep sigh left her mouth for the hundredth time this evening. She felt cornered by all this, on the one hand she felt like the mere fact of seeing Samuel would be like cheating on Luke, on the other hand, it's not like she intended to do anything, but it would be nice to see him again. And Lù had a point, maybe it would be good for them to be friends.
Luke's text was long forgotten by the time she answered Samuel, drifting into a dreamless sleep.
