Kaname's POV
It was a bright day when i'd gone to speak with the headmaster, Kaien Cross, about switching Zero Kiryu to the night class. As I turned a corner, there was the headmasters office, I lightly knocked on the door. Then, he walked in only to see Zero's foot and shoe on the headmaster's face. My face remained the same, but in my head, I was a little confused. However, it did not matter. This was just the relationship between Zero and Cross.
Once Zero noticed my presence, he immediately took his foot and shoe off his adoptive fathers face and walked out of the office. Only when I was sure he would not hear what I was about to say did I speak.
"Headmaster Cross, you know Zero must transfer to the night class. He is a vampire. Though he is a level E, he's still not a human it would be in your best interest to transfer him. I sighed,
"As you know, I'd like for your ideology of vampires and humans to coexist, live, and work together peacefully. However, that can't happen as long as Zero remains in the day class with humans.
Yes, he's resisted the pain of hunger all this time, but how long do you honestly think he can hold out?" I know you're right, but let's be honest with ourselves. There's a specific reason you want him to transfer, Kaname."
"Yes, as I've told you before, he is my mate, and I want him by my side whenever possible. However, that does not change that I'm right, and you know it for a fact."
He sighed and spoke once more, "As long as you protect him and help him to adjust to the night class students, then i'll allow the transfer." I nodded, turned towards the door, and started walking.
It wasn't until I'd halfway exited the room that he added, "Oh, and Kaname, you should tell him the real reason he's transferring."I will when he is ready to hear it. He has quite the temper, as you know." I replied, taking my leave.
As I walked, Yuki came to my line of sight, so naturally, I went to say hello. Yes, Yuki is my sister, but I don't plan on marrying or producing two heirs for the kuran line.
However, I do plan on waking her from her human sleep when I believe she is ready to handle the truth of her past and to bear the pain of knowledge once more.
After our brief hello's and asking her where Zero might be, I walked to the only tree near the fountain. Only to see a sleeping Zero on the ground, leaning up against the tree, his arms crossed, and a scowl on his face.
