Kyle's interview went well. So well in fact that he was offered a place at the firm immediately. They offered him a starting work bonus.
Kyle is sitting at his computer, looking for apartments for rent that he could afford for a few weeks in Arizona. He scrolls through hundreds of listings, losing hope until he comes across this specific listing.
'1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, living room and kitchen, fully furnished. $600 monthly payment, no pay required for first 2 weeks.
Contact *** ***** ***** for more information.'
'perfect!' Kyle thinks to himself as he calls the number.
A woman answers the phone.
"Hello, how can I help you?" She says, sweetly.
"Hi, yes, I saw an advertisement for an apartment available for rent?" Kyle questions.
"Oh, wonderful! Yes, so as it says in the listing, rent isn't needed for another two weeks after you first move in. The apartment is already furnished and ready although I do have to ask you don't paint or graffiti anything on the walls of the apartment. Property value decreases and all that boring stuff. The rent is reasonably cheap for six hundred dollars every month and deadlines for rent can be flexible if given enough notice. All you have to do is answer these questions and I will call you back within a few days to notify you if you're accepted. Is all that okay?" She speaks with such a velocity that Kyle could hardly keep up.
"Yes, ma'am." He responds.
"Points for being polite!" The woman jokes. Kyle laughs lightly.
"Can I ask for your name, age, current living status, job title and salary to start with?"
"Of course. My name is Kyle Broflovski, I am twenty-two years old and fresh out of college haha. I have been given a position as an associate at Guidant Law firm with a salary of 61,036 dollars a year as I'm a first year associate."
"Wow, very impressive Mr. Broflovski was it?" She says, genuinely.
"Yes ma'am." Kyle responds, keeping things professional to seem like a good candidate.
"Well, Kyle, based on what you've told me, I'm sure you could be a really good tenant for the apartment. If I could just have the number of the Law firm that will be employing you, that would be great!" She practically squeals with glee.
"Of course, ma'am. It's *** ***** *****."
"Great, Kyle. Really great! I will be in contact with you soon in regards to where you stand on the apartment. Take care, bye-bye now!" She hangs up the phone.
Kyle sighs, nervous about getting the apartment. He looks back through pictures of the place and every time he looks, he just wants it more.
"Kyle, bubbie, time for dinner!" Sheila shouts up the stairs to call Kyle down.
"Coming, ma'." Kyle shouts back, turning off his computer.
He walks down the stairs of his old home, and gathers in the dining room being the last to arrive.
"Mrs. Broflovski, before we eat, is it okay if Kyle and I share some news?" Theo speaks, standing up from the table and standing next to the lean 6"1 ginger.
"What are you doing, Theo?" Kyle whispers, leaning down slightly to reach the brunette's ear.
"Relax, Kyle. It'll be okay." Theo whispers back.
"We'll be right back, ma'. Just got to chat first." Kyle spoke nervously, pulling Theo into the living room.
"I swear to god if it's what I think it is, you better not." Kyle says, panic rising in his chest.
"Kyle you need to choose, be open about our relationship or lose me because you're too scared to come out."
"What?" Kyle half-shouts.
"You heard me. Come out or lose me." Theo crosses his arms expectantly.
"Get out." Kyle calmly retorts, pointing to the door.
"What!" Theo shouts, shocked at what Kyle just said.
"I don't want to be with someone who expects me to do something I'm not ready or comfortable with doing. Get out." Kyle's voice is stern and smooth.
"Oh, go fuck yourself, Kyle! You're not leaving me!" Theo shouts, wanting to make a scene so Kyle's family hears him.
"Theo for fucks sake, shut up!" Kyle is now shouting, trying to hush his now ex-boyfriend.
"Kyle, please. We could have a future together. We could get married and have kids and be together, please!" Theo is now holding Kyle's arms, begging him. Not because he wants Kyle but because Sheila and Gerald are standing right behind Kyle.
"Are you serious? You just tried to put me to my parents!"
"Don't be so embarrassed Kyle. There's no shame in being gay." Theo says, calmly. Smiling as he sees Sheila's face drop.
"What what what!?" Kyle spins round so fast he feels light headed. He sees his mother fainting and falling into his fathers arms. Gerald has a stone face, unreadable as he guides Sheila to the couch. He doesn't take his eyes off of his newly gay son.
"I'm gonna fucking kill you!" Kyle yells as he launches toward Theo and hooks him right in the jaw, making the weaker stumble back. Kyle keeps wailing on the boy, Theo screaming for help from Kyle's parents but receiving nothing.
Kyle picks Theodore up by the scruff of his neck and throws him outside, Theo landing on his back. Kyle walks over to the battered boy and kicks his stomach so he's folded in half.
"Come anywhere near me again I swear to god, I'll smash you're fucking teeth in!" The jersey in his voice is very prominent at this moment. Theo just scrambles to his feet and runs off, presumably finding a way back to his hotel room. Kyle dreads going back inside but he sucks it up and walks back into his home.
Gerald is standing facing Kyle, his wife still sitting on the couch.
"What now, dad? What happens now?" Kyle asks, scared for his parents' reactions.
"Son, you can't help being what you are. We might not understand it but we have to accept it. We don't love you any less because of your sexuality." Gerald speaks, his voice full of sincerity.
"Kyle, my little bubbeleh, I love you so much. Who cares what you do in your private time? We love you bubbie." Kyle starts crying, happy that his parents are okay with this, with him.
"I love you so much ma'. You too dad." Kyle sniffles and pulls his parents into a long hug. Just then, Ike walks in.
"Kyle, does this mean you like, take it up the ass?" Ike questions with a smirk.
"Shut the fuck up, Ike." Kyle says, rolling his eyes.
"Oh, my, god! You so do!" Ike exclaims, falling on the floor, rolling with laughter.
"Enough, boys. Come for dinner now, it's getting cold. Kyle I want you to apologise for the way you treated Theodore."
"Hell no, ma'. He had it coming."
"Kyle Broflovski, I did not raise you like this!" Sheila barks at him.
"Alright, I'll find him later okay?" Sheila nods, satisfied with Kyle's answer.
Kyle sits down, ready to enjoy a well cooked meal with his family who knew him, the real him.
