Since my book is already rated mature because of the trigger warnings and implications, I guess I'll add some depictions of blood and gore. Hopefully it ain't too much, I'm just experimenting on what I can do. Sorry if your perturbed by this.

Oh and this chapter is also based off the first Deltora Quest book (Figured I'll add it since I'm low on ideas and I was forced to read it at school. . .)

TL;DR: Bloody stuff up ahead.

Future Catsoupus here.

For the love of GOD. Shield your eyes at this sad attempt of being edgy.

After patching yourself up a little along the way you seem the notice something peculiar about this place.

(Your HP: 70/110)

The further you continued down the road the more unsettling it came to be. You weren't bothered that much, with Ralsei by your side and the experience of the forest in Hometown under your belt, it was just another walk in the park. Ralsei on the other hand was much more scared and kept close to your torso, you could guess he was so scared he didn't know he practically squeezing you.

Corpses of deceased darkened started to appear, most of them were decapitated, seemingly with a sword. Even though Susie and Kris were violent individuals from time to time, they wouldn't outright murder someone. Ralsei griped your hand more tightly, shielding his eyes from the gruesome sights.

Blood here, heads there. It shook you up a bit, whoever did this was not to be messed with.

The happy mood of the forest from before was a faint memory, the birds, your only outside contact, vanished without a trace. The trees scarlet leaves had dried up, dark blood staining the trunks.

Ralsei was shaken, literally. You stop and face the prince and put a hand on his shoulder.

"Hey look, I'm sorry from before. . .I mean it. But we can't give up now Rally, let's get past this. I believe in us alright!" You give a determined and reassuring smile and held up his hand.

"O-ok Y/N. But I-I've heard myths a-about this place" You listen intently "A great g-guard was once sent here to contain a treasure. Some D-Darkners tried to claim it. . . But I guess w-we know their f-fate"

Ralsei looked at one of the deceased Darkners, a Ruddin split in half, I don't wanna describe that poor fellow, or what was left of them. The prince looked away very quickly, trying to forget the image.

You shouldn't of come here.

Though as you turned around vines blocked your narrow path out.

Shit.

You kept walking forward, not that you had much of a choice mind you.

More unknown Darkners, another Ruddin impaled with something, their face no longer recognisable, it was like it was torn off. Another had a massive hole in their stomach, they had a note next to them. You told Ralsei to stay put and look at the ground if he didn't want any nightmares.
