"No," Mildred said from where she sat by the Ravenclaw fireplace, glancing over at Regulus Black who looked so forlorn and friendless having been sorted into Ravenclaw instead of Slytherin; she'd not realized when she suggested on the train that he goes into the house representing who he wanted to be, that it would result in him being here, certain people not wanting anything to do with him simply because he was a Black and they were prejudice towards Muggleborn like her. "I will not go along with that vote, pure and simple, because it is cruel. I'm going to include him in things I do," she said, standing up and walking over to sit with him, catching him off guard as he looked up at her wide-eyed, obviously confused anybody would want to be friends with him, given how his family was, particularly someone like her.
"Me too," Maud said, standing up and heading over to sit with them, understanding the gravity of the situation, of what kind of impact leaving Regulus alone and friendless would have on their fellow Ravenclaw from their year; they'd both decided to include him in their activities, with Mildred instantly starting to draw while Regulus looked on, interested, as if he'd never seen such a thing before. But then, after a brief moment of watching, Maud looking on as well, she was surprised to see Regulus turn out a sample of his own drawing skill, finding a way to connect with them; however, Maud's own drawing skills were entirely lacking, which in turn led to a friendly laugh between the three—they were indeed friends.
