Dragon Slayer: A Shinobi's Legacy

Chapter 1:

February X782 

It was an early morning for Fairy Tail, and Natsu and Lisanna were at the guild enjoying each other's company while Happy was sitting on the table eating fish. It was a nice day until Mirajane and Elfman were given an S-class mission.

"Come on, Lisanna, we have a job to do." Elfman says as he walks with Mirajane.

"Okay Elfman-Nii, I'm coming." Lisanna answered. As she walked towards her siblings and looked back at Natsu smiling at him causing Natsu to blush.

She turned to her siblings and asked, "So what's the mission that we're doing exactly?" As she looked at her siblings with excitement.

"We are doing an S class mission and Mirajane wants us to accompany and help her with it." Elfman explained with a smile and worry as this is his first time doing his S class mission.

"No fair." Natsu says looking back at Elfman. As they manage to go on crazy jobs while he does boring jobs.

"What kind of job is it?" Lisanna asked as she looked at her siblings.

"It's an emergency quest that came in. They want us to kill a monster called The Beast." Mirajane explained with a determined smile on her face.

"Can I tag along with you guys?" Natsu asked as he was determined to prove himself that he had become strong enough to take an S-class mission.

"No thanks, I don't want you to tag along. I'm the man of the family and I can protect you guys on my own." Elfman said with pride.

"Sorry Natsu, but it seems like Elfman doesn't want you to tag along." Lisanna says as she looks at Natsu with a sad smile.

"Well then, let's go." As the Strauss family began to leave the guild and set off to their S-rank mission.

Natsu at first is saddened and it best leaves them with their mission. However, a voice said to his mind, "It is best if you follow them." Natsu turned his head, only for him to realize he was inside his mindscape.

He then saw a giant cage in front of him. Natsu was confused by what he saw. But when he got closer to the cage, he saw something inside the cage. Inside the cage, reveals to be the nine-tailed fox Kurama standing inside the cage.

"Who the hell are you?" Natsu asked Kurama. Kurama looked down at the fire dragon slayer mage and said, "I'm not looking for an introduction, but I have to say this. I know you don't want to bother them with their mission. But deep down in your heart, you worried for their safety. You should follow them just in case. Remember, those who abandoned their mission are scum But those who abandon their friends are even worse than scum."

Surprised by Kurama's words, Natsu decided he should follow them. He then left the guild and using his dragon-like senses, followed the trail. He followed them to the train station and was about to leave. Fortunately for Natsu, he pulled out a kunai with three blades and a wooden handle with a mark on it.

He threw the kunai at the top of the train and used the flying Raijin technique to teleport himself onto the train. He teleported on top of the train, however, he had motion sickness and it was difficult for him, so he had to endure it.

Hours Later

When the Strauss siblings arrived at the burning town, Natsu followed them in secret.

"Oh, my god." Lisanna sees the town being burned down and people running around.

"Lisanna, I want you to evacuate everyone out of the town and Elfman I need you to help me take out the beast." Mirajane ordered as she and Elfman began to hunt the beast.
