"So how does it feel?"

"How does what feel?"

"Getting dumped on your birthday?"

Maze had a smug look on her face, arms crossed in front of her chest.

He had joined her on the balcony to admire the view, the vast ocean stretched out before them, rocking, waving, retreating. High tide. A pepper of beach-goers lined the coast, taking advantage of the warmth while it lasted.

"Laughing at my pain is so sick." Blu sighed.

"But it was absolutely hilarious when Sheb broke up with me via text, right?"

"A, Not the same thing. B, I'm pretty sure I was drunk and high."

"Excuses, excuses." She sucked her teeth. "Doesn't change the fact that you were still an asshole to me and you're still dumped. Right on your bday. Single as a Pringle. Revenge tastes sweet."

He crossed his arms over his chest in that way that he did, where his muscles stretched against taut skin. Maze couldn't help but admire, almost to the point that she didn't hear him say, "rub it in, why don't you?"

"Where?"

"What?"

"Where should I rub it in?"

He shook his head, a chuckle on his lips as he stared at her with an intensity that pinned her down to the spot. "You can't make jokes like that now... I might take it upon myself to act first and think later."

"Wait, I think I might like that mindset..." She stepped up on her toes and placed a chaste kiss on his cheek, smiling with her chin up, eyes watching his mouth. Before she could put her heels firm on the ground, he swept her up easily and wrapped her legs around his waist even though she resisted at first due to courtesy.

"I'm wearing a dress," she protested, "my ass is out."

"Isn't it always?"

His palms were on her skin, cool against the flesh of her backside and thighs but not cool enough to lower her body temperature. It was growing warmer in his presence, in such a position, but even if she'd been standing upright, she couldn't escape being weak in the knees.

Maze didn't want to tell him- pressure him- but it felt like so long since she'd been properly touched. Not that he needed to sate her sexually so soon after the breakup but her days had been occupied with resentment and work lately and a toy could only do so much, especially when said toy just couldn't compare to the physicality of the living, breathing, pulsing man in the other room.

The same physicality that she'd try to swallow whole. Despite her best efforts, she couldn't. But damn it, she came close.

All she had to be was horizontal and quickly, her mind would take her elsewhere, to a familiar place of shamelessly thinking of Blu again. Her legs would spread like they had in the shower, she'd slide open the nightstand holding her fun little wand that disappeared the farther she pushed it inside herself while growing wetter and wetter, losing her breath with Blu's name out of her mouth, falling on no one's ears but her own. Her voice a library hush, imagining what would happen if he accidentally walked in on her, pulled that purple thing right out of her and replaced it with himself.

Maze was probably a bad person for thinking that of him, as if he didn't have a boo during all of those late night sessions but Honey herself could sense that she was in the way of something.

A big, giant, unsaid something that was taking up more space than the ocean contained. That's why Maze and Blu were always on top of one another, to try and make room.
