Chapter Two: simple stranger [Gara]

"I'm Gara" I answered looking at the lady in front of me, her baggy outfit with a matching dark cloak paired with her short brown hair and her two different color eyes one a pale sky blue, the other a rich emerald green slightly contrasting to her sun-kissed skin.

"Jade," the lady replied. She smiled so warmly it could make the sun feel cold as ice.

"LADY GARA!" the familiar voice of one of my guards followed close behind me.

"Shoot, dang it," I say, grabbing Jade's hand, and beginning to drag her behind me as I run.

"Why are you running?" she asked, yanking my hand back.

"Because if I don't they will take me back to the castle" I sigh "And if I go back they will make me marry some stupid prince"

Jade looked at me her face contorted with confusion and amazement "Hold up, so you're princess Gara, like the princess Gara, like liv-"

"Yeah, can we get back to running ?" I interrupted taking a step forward. She gripped my hand as we ran, the only thing running through my mind was how small her hand felt in mine, her hand rough and calloused, probably cause living in the back alleys for who knows how long. I snapped out of my trance when I felt us stopping running.

"Lady Gara," the guard said as I watched the other take Jade into his arms restraining her from talking or moving much.

"Lady Gara, your mother wants you back at the castle" The guard bowed

"Of course she does," I mutter, kicking a rock. "Let the girl go," I say sternly

"But miss, this girl broke a law, she was caught kidnapping you with a weapon, she could have killed you!" the guard explained

"KIDNAPPING!" Jade gasped out, the guard quickly knock out Jade, with a strong hit to the back of her neck. I watched as her body fell limp.

"Let her go" I spoke raising my voice.

"That choice isn't yours in this case" the guard responded calmly.

"I'm the next to the thrown, what do mean not my choice" I shouted

"In this case the girl is in the queen's hands" the guard said.
