a/n: hi! i'm so sorry for not updating :-(, i honestly had really bad writers block! but here it is :), hope you enjoy <3

You awoke the next morning, the soft mattress of the futon gently rocking you into consciousness. For a moment you were disoriented, your eyes adjusting to the stark grey walls and the unfamiliar surroundings. But then it all came back to you - you remembered where you were and why: you were in the Blue Lock facility, a remote area, far from the city.

For weeks to come, you'd be working here as an intern - you'd be apart of some mad scheme concocted by an unknown benefactor apart of the JFA.

Well...Thats if you didn't get yourself kicked out right off the bat, of course.

You sighed at the thought before pushing yourself up and out from beneath the blankets that were wrapped so warmly around your body – last night's sleep had been surprisingly comfortable given the circumstances. You reached out with one hand and lightly pulled on the cord to switch on the shoji lamp, which cast a warm glow over the small room. You allowed your eyes to adjust to the light that encased the dark room, and you groggily brought a hand up to rub the sleepiness from your eyes.

You tried to go about your normal schedule, despite the change in environment. The unfamiliarity of it all was daunting, but still, you made the choice to press on - clinging desperately onto that sense of routine and familiarity in an effort to restore some semblance of structure amid the feeling of chaos.

You had just finished lacing your shoes, when a notification sound rung from the tablet on your dresser. You turned to it, pausing mid-motion as if suspended in time. Your eyes drank in every detail of that illuminated screen: an email from Anri.
