Swapped AU

E. Gadd had called SMG3 and SMG4 over. He had a new invention he wanted them to try out. 

"Okay, so what does this thing do again?" Asked SMG4.

"It allows you to travel to alternate universes." Explained E.Gadd.

" Wow, that's cool." Said 4.

"How do we know it's safe, though?" Asked 3.

"Because I may have tested out on a goomba." Said E.Gadd pointing at a traumatized-looking Goomba. Poor thing.

Suddenly, Mario came busting into the room.

"Hello, 3! Hello, 4!" He said loudly.

"Hey, Mario, we're over here!" Said Four.

Mario walked over to them and immediately took interest in the device in Four's hand.

"Ooo, what's this?" He said as he snatched it from 4.

"Dang it Mario, give it back!" Said Four as he reached for the device.

They fought over it for a   few moments. Then Mario dropped it and something broke. The machine started sputtering and sparking.

SMG4 shoved Mario out of the way. He hit the floor and watched as SMG3 and SMG4 disappeared.

Mario quickly got to his feet and walked over to E.Gadd.

"Where are they?! What happened?!"

SMG4 remembered shoving Mario out of the way before being blind by a white light.

When his vision started returning, he realized he was no longer in E.Gadds lab. Instead, he was in the New Grounds. Not only that but he was in SMG1 and 2s game. But it wasn't in ruin like it usually was.

"Four, where are we?" Asked Three from behind. Okay, so he wasn't by himself.

"We're in SMG1 and SMG2 world." Said Four. "But it's different."

Suddenly a small red figure ran by followed by a larger blue one.

"Sorry," said the blue one. He turned around and then stopped dead in his tracks.

Was it Mario? No, it was him but still with his clone design. Well,  the other him had a light blue sweater on instead of overalls and had purple marks identical to 1 and 2s. His hair was messier, too.

"Hey, why'd you stop?" Said the little red person from before.

The other Four grabbed the little red man's hand.

"Let's go back to the house."

"What, why?"

"Spudnick, please."

Wait, Spudnick? As in One and Twos avatar?

"Oh, okay."

He picked up Spudnick and ran off.

"Maybe we should follow him. That way we might be able to get help from someone else." Said Three.

"Okay."

They followed the other Four for a while before coming up to a sign.

It read: Welcome to the Old Grounds.

Wait, they were in the old grounds, and Spudnick was alive. This Four had purple marks, and presumably, so did the other three, which means-

" Three, I think I know where we are!"

"Okay, come on tell me."

"I think we're in an alternate universe where Mario died instead of Spudnick."
