Sophie had noticed that Maria had been acting distant lately, but she couldn't quite figure out why. She missed spending time with her girlfriend and wanted to make plans for the weekend.

"Hey, Marie, do you want to hang out this weekend?" Sophie asked as they walked to their next class.

Marie hesitated for a moment before answering. "I can't, I have practice this weekend," she said, looking down at her phone.

Sophie felt a twinge of disappointment, but she tried to stay positive. "Oh, okay. Well, maybe we can hang out after practice?"

But Marie didn't seem too keen on the idea. "I don't know, I might be too tired. I really need to focus on my work too," she said, continuing to type away on her phone.

Sophie could tell something was off, but she didn't want to push too hard. "Alright, well, let me know if you change your mind," she said with a smile.

But as Sophie turned to walk away, Marie suddenly stood up and grabbed her bag. "I have to go, sorry," she said quickly before walking away.

Sophie was left standing there, confused and hurt. She didn't understand why Marie was acting so distant and cold towards her. Had she done something wrong?

Sophie decided not to dwell on it too much and focused on her own plans for the weekend. But deep down, she couldn't shake the feeling that something was off between her and Marie.
