You walk over to the primate exhibit and start reading one of the signs. Rachel catches up and stands behind you. You've been having a really shitty day and stand there will your arms crossed, frowning at the sign. Rachel leans over and starts making quiet monkey sounds in your ear so just you can hear. He's been doing this at every exhibit, roaring at the lions, hissing at the snakes, howling at the wolves, trying to break your sour mood. But you'd stubbornly refused to be cheered up, not even giving him a courtesy smile. A spider monkey swings over to the glass, dropping right in front of you and sitting back in a squat. Rachel walks over to the monkey and they stare at each other. You watch grumpily. Suddenly Rachel drops into a squat, mirroring the monkey, and starts hooting at it loudly, doing a fairly impressive impression. Your lips twitch, your frown threatening to betray you and turn upsidedown. The monkey looks rather surprised by this display and hops back a foot. But Rachel continues to act an absolute idiot. You snort, trying to hold back a laugh. The other people in the exhibit turn to stare at him but he continues undeterred. You finally give in, losing it and collapsing in a fit of giggles.
"There she is, Rachel grins and comes over, scooping you up and hugging you.
