The time that caused him to run away plays in my mind. I assumed he wouldn't come back. Now, he's here. I immediately hug him and unlike what I did with Dad, he hugs back. "You came back." I whisper and I realize I'm crying. "Hank, Joseph, who is this man?" Mom asks as she comes inside with Harry, who's asleep. "This is Shank, my brother." I reply. She takes one look at him and I can already tell she'd like him as another son. "Hey, Mom? Can he stay?" I ask. "I don't know, Hank. I already have three sons and that's up to my limit." she replies. "Please?" I beg, "Shank was gone for three years and I had to be with Daniel and you wouldn't believe what he was like. He was horrible. I hated it." "May I say something? If I could stay with this family, I would work and give you the money. Would that help?" Shank asks. Mom thinks for a bit. "I guess it would. Alright, Shank. Welcome to the family." she replies with a smile. He's back. Shank's really back.
It's time to leave the place after 2 whole days have passed. Joseph, Rajeev, Harry and I slide into the back of the car that used to be Daniel's while Mom and Shank throw the stuff in the trunk. When they get in, I look back at the place where I stood up for myself before we drive back home.
