A/n happy Saturday
I was just thinking, should this book stay only as island? Or do every season Courtney's in? I'd be happy to do either.Courtney groggily woke up, everyone else was asleep, she climbed over Bridgette and heather, trying to not wake them up. Courtney just naturally woke up before everyone, so she, unlike everyone else, actually got productive stuff done.
She woke up usually 2 hours before everyone else, who got woken up by Chris, she usually hopped in the shower while the water was still warm, got dressed, went for a run, did some reading, and chose to make her own breakfast over chefs gruel.
This morning she did just that, and as she was reading in the woods, Duncan cane up and next to her. "Why are you up so early? I thought you hated mornings?" Courtney asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Well Katie wasn't letting any of us sleep, you made a good choice with the gophers." He shrugged "saw you and thought you looked a bit lonely." He joked.
Courtney rolled her eyes and focused on her book. "So what's up with the gophers? Since you spend half of your time around them." Duncan asked, sounding weirdly jealous.
"Why do you care? I just hang out with bridge, Heath, Cody, Noah and Trent." She listed of, she wasnt close with any other gopher, sure her leshawna and Gwen were civil for like day, but now they seem to hate her.
"Princess I know I keep asking you this, but why do you hate me? I know I've asked you like 3 times but I've never got a real answer, so why?" He asked once again. Courtney decided the best way to tell him was to use him as an example.
"Well....a lot of guys only talk to me if they need something, there was this guy I dated, we had fun, we fought a lot, but then at the end of the day, he cheated on me with my best friend." She said sadly.
Duncan looked at her sympathetically, wrapping an arm around her "so what? You thought I was like that?" 'You are.' Courtney thought, but she just nodded, a few tears in her eyes, she hated bringing up the love triangle, and tried to avoid it like the plague. But she just couldn't do it, it was gonna be a part of her for a long time, but maybe this second chance will be a way to escape from that.
"Well I'm not, and any guy who did do that to you is a dickhead. You deserve better court." He hugged the girl closer, it felt odd. Sure these words came from her friends most of the time but coming from Duncan it just felt weird. weird, but nice.
The Latina slowly leaned into his touch, just for a moment forgetting how much she hated him. She sat there for a good minute, just enjoying the peace, when her brain suddenly reminded her. 'HES A CHEATER.'
She shot up and awkwardly smiled "well, thanks Duncan, that was really nice of you, but I have to go now." She sweetly smiled and ran of, she ran into the gopher girls cabin and shook her two friends awake.
"Bridgette summers, Heather Quinn I swear to god if you don't wake up I'll get the water!" Courtney threatened as the two almost shot up, "UGHH what is it court?" Heather groaned groggily.
"I've got news, let's get the boys." Heather and Bridgette looked exited at the sound of news and quickly got ready. While they were getting ready Courtney saw Noah on the porch, reading a book.
"Noah, your a boy aren't you?" She questioned despite already knowing the answer. "Hm? let me check." He pulled his trousers forward, looking inside. "Yep, still a male." He answered.
"Ok, so go wake Cody and Trent up, I've got news." Noah sighed agitated, before going into the cabin. He soon emerged with a happy looking Cody, and tired looking Trent. As if on cue the girls walked over, eyeing the 2 boys, Trent was in a white tank top and boxers, while Cody wore a green PJ top, and black shorts. "Nice boxers Trent." Heather joked, making the guitarist roll his eyes.
