(TW: Death, murder)

Riley was furious. Actually, just curious was an understatement.
She was more upset than she thought she could ever be.
Rosco.
Her beloved Rosco.
Her companion and best friend.
Taken from her for no good reason.
From then on, Riley's mannerisms had completely changed.
She had a permanent frown on her face, hair messy and unkempt.
She hardly spoke anymore, nor did she make eye contact.
Daisy tried to offer help. So did Nick Nack- as much as he despised Riley, he couldn't help but feel concerned.
"Are you okay?"
"Still mourning, I see..?"
"Everything will be alright..."
"Please... isn't there anything we can do?"
No reply. All she did was turn her head away, and walk back to her lab.
She couldn't just let it go like this. She HAD to avenge her dear Rosco.
...And she knew exactly how.
...
...
The scientist knocked on the door.
No answer.
Try again.
Still no answer.
"...Screw it."
Riley began to bang on the door with both of her hands.
"Fine, fine! Come in, come in!" A voice answered from the other side.
Riley turned the doorknob, wasting no time in getting in there.
She slammed the door immediately upon doing so, which seemed to alarm the other puppet sitting at his desk.
"Riley! Hm.. still not back to your old self, I see."
"Mortimer..." Riley said, clenching her fists. "Why?"
Mortimer raised a brow. "Why what—"
"WHY DID YOU TAKE HIM FROM ME?!"
"Oh, Rosco? Pssh. You and I both know.. also, rhyme, Riley."
She would if she wasn't so absolutely pissed off.
"I won't rhyme for YOU. I'm not gonna do anything for you anymore. I've had it with you! I think you've lost your mind, and I can't abide by it any longer!"
Riley held her head with her hands. "You give me a command, you forget what you said, and you do things like this! Things like taking my Rosco away!"
Mortimer huffed. "And you think that you can stop me? Oh, please.. you're so pathetic, little scientist. There has to be some variable you may have missed."
Riley's eye twitched, fists tightening even harder. "Why, I'd ought to.."
"Go ahead. Try to kill me." Mortimer stood up from his chair, walking in front of his desk, as if to taunt Riley. "But it will not be easy."
Oh, really?
This man- er, puppet, has no idea who he's dealing with.
Riley ran up to him without hesitation, wrapping her hands around the other puppet's neck.
"AGHCKK—! RILEY- W- WHAT ARE YOU-?!"
Riley didn't answer. Instead, she stared right into Mortimer's eyes.
Perhaps Mortimer was just seeing things, but he could swear Riley's face was beginning to shift.
Shadows began to obscure it, until it was nothing but pitch black.
Save for two eyes with red scleras, and completely black pupils.
And a frown comprised of white teeth, fully exposed.
"R- RILEY— *COUGH*- IF YOU KILL ME—! *COUGH COUGH*- YOU WILL BE— SORRY!-"
To that, Riley whispered.
"Goodbye."
SNAP!
...
...
Mortimer.
He was gone, dead by Riley's hand.
Riley dropped the limp puppet to the floor.
Instead of just leaving him there, however, she dragged the other puppet out of the office by his arm.
"I could use some of your parts, actually.. after all, I do have to repair Rosco." Riley hummed. "I'm not quite sure how I can attach wooden pieces to felt, but I'll try my best."
Riley grinned. She couldn't wait to see her Rosco alive again.
Did she feel regret? 'Why should I?', she thought.
"I only did what I know is right."
