I am the last unicorn. Can you see what makes it so?
Can you see I have no hate in my heart?
Why do you laugh at me? I am just like you.
Heart that beats, lungs that breathe, and a brain that thinks.
Is the clean innocence in my eyes too long gone, for you to comprehend?
Are you jealous of my white rose, because yours is stained red?
Capture me you say? You can not steal my purity, it shall live forever.
Who knows, there may be more like me. Or have you chased them out to sea?
They hide from you because of fear. Can you not accept us?
Are you scared that we may be better than you? We are equals.
You refuse to see that though, your eyes are still too filthy to see.
That is why you fear me.
I am the last unicorn, do not fear me.

PoetryThis is a poem I wrote as a child. It is in the perspective of the unicorn from the movie. Cover credit is Annie Stegg, I love her paintings.
