real life !

it was nine o'clock at night on saturday, and right now ameira jacobs was walking down the streets of somerville and passing by shops that were lit up and shown by the street lights outside.

the girl needed a break, a breather after a mess of an event happened at home. let's just say that it involved arguing with her parents, broken glass, and a broken table, that all led up to her here.

matt on the other hand was out getting food for him and his brothers tonight. raising canes was where he was at, leaning up against a wall as he waited for his ticket number to be called.

he looks up for a moment, planning to look back down but his eyes got caught on someone. outside, he could see the street lights showing ameira sitting on the bench across the street.

her curls flowed, touching her back and her shoulders as she wore a black puffer jacket with some sweatpants and slides.

"order 49!" he was pulled away from his trance to look and see that his number was called. matt grabs the bags of food, thanks the worker and leaves out.

looking at her from across the street once more, he could see it in her eyes that she wasn't okay. and it was obvious that she walked here and didn't have a ride to get home.

it was late at night, and a girl shouldn't be walking home this dark outside. so, his feet took the chance to make him walk forward so that he suddenly stands in front of her. "hi." he clears his throat.

he catches her attention as she looks up, wiping the tears away from her eyes. she looks at him and simply waves. "uh....i'm matt and i'm in your english class....." the words aren't there anymore on his tongue.

she looks at him still, watching him try to speak past the stuttering. she hums, letting him know that she was in fact listening and not ignoring him.

taking a deep breath to calm his rising anxiety, he's ready to form a real sentence. "let's start over. i'm matt, a classmate of yours in english and i seen you sitting here alone and just wanted to ask if you drove here?"
