12. His grief

"I  know sir, I made a very huge mistake in leaving her but I dont have a choice. That was the best thing i know to make things better. Im so sorry, but dont worry sir. It is like God gave me another chance to make things right again and I dont wanna spoil this chance, ever again. I have her now and I will never let her go." He said with whole heart and sincerity infront of Liza's parents grave.

Im on my way to  CXFO hideout, its been a while. I took my  phone and remembered Diego. He must hear everything coz Im going crazy now.

I tried to call him many times but he isn't answering. On the other hand, I arrived at CXFO. It is located at a hidden part of Spain's beautiful hills. It is a huge underground property. Upon entering the entrance. You can never see a gate or any track of construction.

I opened my window and went closer to a large rock that has an electronic device enplaned into it. I scanned my CXFO identification card and right away, a underground trail opened. I rushed in and it automatically closed.

I parked my car and went in the elevator.

As the elevator opened, I saw some new agents from  that are very busy.

"Hey guys ! " i said, they turned and they happily went to me. They hugged me and I hugged back.

"Thank God,  Agent Beauty your here. We are so worried. " Margaretta Simson or Agent Rush said.

"Why ? What are you worried at ? " i asked.

"Agent Eagle. He isnt going out of his cabin, since yesterday. He is hiding in there and isnt eating anything. Help him Liza." Sandra Lumper or Agent Wind said.

"Your the only one who can make him out of his mess, his been out of his mind when he arrive here yesterday." Clark Samuels said or Agent Thor and Diego's good friend here in CXFO.

They look very worried and really beg at me. The people here are very kind, understanding, sincere, concern and very genuine. Thats why I clicked here right away.

"Agent Beauty! Is that you darling ? "  I turned when I heard a British accent, and there I saw a gorgeous woman in her late 30's, she is Boss Bryan or Boss Alpha's wife, Carey Forter or Boss Omega.

If Boss Alpha sets the operation and manipulate the whole organization, Boss Omega on the other hand, accepts and entertains clients problem that will be hand on to the rest of the personnel of the org.

"Oh Boss Omega, its been a while." I went into her and hugged her.

"Oh darlin ! We've been waiting for you and of course we don't wanna add on into your problems so dear please  Diego, he is in his room right now. Can you do it darling ?"

"Yes boss. Many things happened but ofcourse i would always have time for my best friend. I'll go ahead to his cabin. See ya ! " i said and rushed to his cabin.

Wonder what's bothering him. I knocked but no one answered. I knocked harder and harder but still ! Now Im pissed.

"Goddamn Diego ! Open this f@ckin door !!! " i yelled but still no response. Your making me mad Diego !!! Dammit !!!

"Ok ! Your playing fool with me ?! Fine !!! " I kicked the damn door and viola its wrecked.

His room is still clean and its like nothing happened, but I saw Diego, seating at the edge of his bed, hugging his legs and staring at nothing.

I went close and looked at him. His eyes are very red and tears are still falling into his cheeks. I sat infront of him, i cupped his cheeks and lifted it up.

"I know your not ok, what happened Diego ? " He looked at my eyes and I saw sadness, I instantly hugged him.

"Oh Diego ! Im so sorry, come on what happened ?  " he leaned his head into my shoulders and burst into tears.

The whole time, I was just tapping his back and hugging him tight while he was crying hard.

"I failed to protect my love ones, I wasn't there when they need me.. Like my brother and Julia, yes I was there but I wasn't able to protect them. I'm an agent, sworn to protect and give justice but why can't I protect my love ones." I lifted his chin wiped his tears.

"Diego, I don't get it. What happened ? " Sadness overwhelmed me too, i cried coz aside from I don't get what he is coming through, is that I can really feel the grief he is feeling.

"Dad died yesterday, and i wasn't there when he needed me the most . Liza, this is the 2nd time that I wasn't able to save them. Its my fault ! I'm so stupid, pathetic !! "

He tried to punch himself that made me pissed seeing him blame himself, and there I slap him.

"Why ? Are you superman ? Are you the man to save everyone in despair ? Diego, your not even man of steel ! See your crying, your weak too. God didn't send you on earth to save anyone in need !! Your just a human being ?! Commit mistake and get hurt !! " He calm down and wiped his tears.

"I'm sorry Liza." I hugged him and he hugged me back. As I break the hug, i wiped his tears again.

"Always remember Diego, it is not always your duty to save everyone in need sometimes God has a reason why you can't save them coz maybe you aren't meant to save them." I kissed his forehead.

"Diego, it hurts seeing you cry, i can bear it again. Please don't do it again, promise me that."

He smiled and held my hands.

"I promise. And Liza, I'm leaving tomorrow.. I have to take Mom and Dad's ashes to Canada to be with our relatives there, She'll be lonely if she stays here." I smiled and held his face.

"I'll be waiting for you Diego, and I hope i'll meet the same old cool Diego." He held my cheeks and slowly, our lips met. It was slow yet sweet, I can feel the concern and love from him but why ? Why can't i feel anything ?

I break kiss and smiled.

"Take care Diego."

"I will. Thank you for easing the pain I felt."  He smiled.

And everything was fine ! Everything is good, everything is...is.. everything used to be good, but not now.
