The date was like a dream for Jungkook. He felt like he was floating as he walked side by side with Jimin.

There were only a few people at this time of the night. It was around 2 a.m. His throat ached with how loud he sang during noraebang. He was pleasantly buzzed but not drunk.

Their hands were intertwined the entire time. They held hands on multiple occasions, but this was different. It felt intimate on a different level.

Jungkook tried to tamp down his excitement but his weak heart couldn't help but feel hopeful. He didn't dare ask why his best friend of fifteen years suddenly asked him out on a date. The answer terrified him. So he did what he always did. Stood on the side-lines, supporting him and cheering him despite the pain in his chest.

The chilly breeze ruffled his hair but Jungkook was sweating. The night was coming to an end. He didn't want it to end.

The Han river was so beautiful. It was their favorite past time. They always found themselves here whenever they wanted some fresh air. But there was something different tonight. Tonight, Jungkook was here on a date with his best friend.

"I was a fool," Jimin suddenly announced.

"Huh?" Jungkook blinked. Several thoughts crossed his mind but he pulled the reins halting them and focused on his best friend, who had his gaze ahead.

"I've been trying to date for years, but there's always something missing." Jimin exhaled.

Jungkook glanced at their intertwined hands, wondering if Jimin would let go and tell him it was over.

"The connection I was looking for was never there," Jimin admitted. "I always wondered why. Tonight proved me I've been looking for you in someone else."

Jungkook's throat ran dry.

"I'm sorry I didn't realise sooner. I was never attracted to men romantically."

Jungkook knew. His heart raced and swear trickled down his neck. What was Jimin trying to tell him? Was he going to apologize and say it'd never work out?

"That was until two weeks ago."

"What?"

Blood rushed to Jungkook's head. He understood every word but had a hard time coming to terms with it. Was Jimin really saying he liked men now? Even when he came out to Jimin all those years ago, his best friend was supportive and promised it didn't change a thing between them.

"I realised I was looking at the wrong places." Jimin turned to look at him and lifted their joined hands. "I had the right one in front of me all these years, but I was in denial I guess. We always joked how easy it would be if we dated each other. I didn't know what was stopping me from going for it. Maybe it was because I didn't feel anything for the others. These feelings I have are only for you. That's why...that's why I didn't know sooner."

Jungkook was trembling. His heart felt like it'd explode anytime now. Every word made perfect sense yet it didn't.

"Will you be my boyfriend, Jungkook? I asked you out to test my theory and I know I was right. You were the missing puzzle in my life. Tonight was perfect in every sense. Will you make the rest of our lives perfect by being my boyfriend?"

Jungkook could barely believe what he was hearing. He didn't remember if mouth was moving but his head did.

Jimin's smile in response was bright and blinding. The next thing he knew, Jimin was circling his hands around his neck, pressing his lips against his. Jungkook's knees weakened at the simple touch of their lips.
