Mrs. Baker was in the kitchen doing something for her work, she was into politics. Billy was nowhere to be found or seen.

Olivia and I were sitting in the living room, she for some reason had her legs stretched out onto my lap comfortably like I was some sort of table or what not. I had no problem with it because we were studying for our science class.

"Okay so now explain to me the principles and applications of thermodynamics in chemistry, including enthalpy, entropy, and Gibbs free energy." I asked Olivia as she scrunched her face up in confusion.

"How the hell I'm I supposed to know that!" She burst out laughing.

"No, but seriously, what's the answer?"

"Uh entropy...? I don't know."

"Well, I would say you got about 0.1 percent of the answer."

"Okay then Mr. smart why don't you explain?" I gave her a raised brow because I was not about to explain this entire thing.

"No, girl you must got me confused with somebody else. Get yo legs off me." I say pulling them onto the side.

"Spencer you're rude you know that." She says putting them right back on. "What it feels like comfortable. It's not like Asher's he barely lets me do this. Hes quite the unromantic type."

"Oh so I'm the romantic type?"

"You seem like it. You look sweet, and Asher is like Jordan's puppet. I mean he wouldn't even kiss me until Jordan gave him permission."

I'm very unintrigued by this information because I do not want to hear about this man.

"Why are you telling me all this?"

"Uh cause you're the only one here."

"Your mom is right there." I point at her, also turning my head into a 360-degree head turn.

Olivia burst into laughter at my exaggerated head turn. "Okay, fine, I guess I could have talked to my mom, but she's busy with her work. And besides, you're a good listener, Spencer."

I couldn't help but smile at her comment. "Well, I'm glad you think so. But let's get back to studying, shall we? We don't want to end up like Asher and his puppet-master relationship with Jordan."

Olivia nodded and straightened herself, sitting up a bit more formally. "You're right. Science first, drama later. So, where were we? Thermodynamics, right?"

I took a moment to collect my thoughts and started explaining the principles and applications of thermodynamics in chemistry. As I spoke, Olivia listened attentively, occasionally interjecting with questions or comments. We dove deep into the topic, discussing enthalpy, entropy, and Gibbs free energy, and how they relate to chemical reactions and equilibrium.

Time seemed to fly as we engaged in our study session, both of us absorbed in the subject matter. We bounced ideas off each other, clarified concepts, and challenged each other's understanding. It was a productive and enjoyable way to learn, and I couldn't help but appreciate Olivia's sharp wit and intelligence.

As we wrapped up our discussion on thermodynamics, Olivia leaned back on the couch, stretching her arms above her head. "Well, I have to say, Spencer, you explained it way better than our textbook."

I chuckled, feeling a sense of pride. "Thanks, Olivia. I'm glad I could help. Science can be complex but breaking it down and discussing it with someone definitely makes it more understandable."

Olivia smiled warmly at me. "You're a great study partner, Spencer. We should do this more often."

As we continued our conversation, Mrs. Baker entered the living room with a stack of papers in her hand. Her eyes darted between us, taking in the sight of Olivia's legs on my lap.
