Chapter 4 (The Royal Gathering)

"A gathering? What royal gathering?" you asked as you tilted your head in confusion while looking at the note your father gave you. Because your father is not the kind of man that likes having parties or a gathering being encountered in his castle. "Yes your majesty. Your father invited all of the royal family to have magnificent gathering for the royals." The maid replied as you looked at the maid with a suspicious face. "Did father told you what is the reason behind all of this?"

You asked. "I'm sorry your majesty but your father told me that it's better if he kept it private." The maid replied as she bowed and gestured you that the maid will leave now. You still kept the suspicion on your face. Why would your father suddenly threw a royal gathering? For what? Why would he kept it private? You kept thinking and thinking what was the reason why would he throw a party. You sighed and got up to go outside to shrug the thoughts of.

You got outside and and saw your father having a talk with someone. You hid behind the wall and decided to listen to their conversation. "One of the royal families got their son shipped your majesty." The man in a suit told your father. "Which royal family was it?" father asked. "It's the Minerva's your majesty." "The Minerva's? Wait.. I i think i heard that last name before but i couldn't remember where i heard it..." You thought. "Wait..They can ship your own children?!" You yelled at your thoughts and widen your eyes.

"Oh no, Oh no, Oh no what if father will ship me out when he knew that i already know the truth?!" while still being crazy about the conversation you heard, you accidentally trip at a rock while about to run away. Your father and the man in a suit heard the sound of you tripping and suddenly took out a gun. You widen your eyes and took the chance to run away before they catch you. You went back to the castle heavily breathing and tired of running. You went to the kitchen and took a glass of water.

When you are about to head back to your room, your father suddenly popped out of nowhere and stared at you creepily like you are some meat. "Do you need something father?" You asked him like nothing happened. Your father gave you a suspicious look while you gave him a sweet soft smile. "How are you my daughter?" your father while smiling sweetly in front of you while you looked away and whispered something. "Girl you still pretending?" you whispered as you chuckled. "Are you saying something?" Father asked with confusion. "Oh my apologies father. Is there something wrong?" you asked and kept a smile on your face.

"Do you know what happen to the son of the Minerva's?" you widen your eyes and cleared your throat. "No father. Why? What happen to him?" i asked while pretending not to know anything. "Oh, He got kidnapped by some men and threw him out of the river." Lie. What an obvious and dumb lie to say. He really expected you to believe that? "Oh, is that so? Poor thing." You replied while pretending to be sad. "That is the disadvantages of going or living outside the wall. So don't go out okay?" Your father smiled and suddenly hugged you. You laughed and pushed him off.

"Stop with the shit."  you answered dryly and walked away.

You're father glared at you and walked the opposite way.

The castle is quite crowded because of the royals. Some of them are getting off their carriage, some of them are talking while drinking some wine, and some of them are walking to take a look around the palace.

You disagree to your father meeting the other royalty since you are in a bad mood after the talk with your father earlier. Instead, you went to your favorite place which is the garden. As usual, you took a sit at the bench admiring the sunset as you closed your eyes and exhaled.

While sitting at the bench and watching the sun set for a few minutes, someone suddenly sat down next to you. You looked at your side to see a raven haired boy with emerald eyes shining because of the sunset. The raven teen looked at you coldly and back to the sunset.

"You know the secret of the orphanage, don't you?"

You widen your eyes still looking at the raven teen while he only kept his eyes on the sun setting.

"What do you mean?.."

You asked nervously while fidgeting your fingers.

"Don't act dumb princess. I know you knew. "

The raven teen finally looked at you while his hair is being blown away because of the wind.

"Your life. Our life has been a lie. We are born to be food. We are not here to be treated like royalties. We are here to be eaten."

"Then let's escape."

The raven teen widen his eyes and you looked at him bravery and hope.

"Let's escape with everyone. Let's save the kids being shipped out instead of being with a family. Let's save the humanity and make the world a better place." You continued your words.

"Are you insane?! We don't know what's going on outside that wall! And, we can't take everyone with us! Bringing the kids with us are only going to make the escape more difficult." The raven teen replied.

"You're just like her." He murmured.

"her?" i asked looking back at the view where the sunset is replaced by starts and the moon.

"Rayyyy!!"

Suddenly, someone called behind making you turn around to see a girl with her orange bouncing up and down as she ran towards you with an albino boy following her behind.

"We've been looking for you everywhere! Oh, who's this?"

The orange teen tilted her head in confusion and looked at the raven boy and towards to you. So his name is Ray huh?

"Hi my name is y/n. I live here. Nice to meet you." You smiled and got up to bow while ray looked at you with his one eyebrow raised.

"My name is Emma! Nice to meet you too y/n! I saw that you already met ray. Oh, and this is Norman!"

She also bowed while she pointed at the albino boy who also bowed in return.

"Do you also know the truth?"

You asked while Emma and Norman look at each other and towards Ray. Ray just kept his mouth shut with his arms crossed and nodded.
