My morning was basically the same as yesterday's, filled with the same dream and routine.
I got ready for work and mentally prepared for what was to come today. I just hope James isn't expecting anything crazy from me. This mission itself is a headache.
I grabbed a coffee before heading to James's office to discuss.
...
"Good morning Z" My boss was putting down a novel as he greeted me and seemed calm as ever.
"Morning, James,'' I replied and took a sip of my coffee before sitting across from his desk.
"I hope you put your mind at more ease about the mission."
"Less overthinking was done, but I want details now please." I replied impatiently.
"Did you sign the assignment papers?"
"Don't test me James."
He sighed and took his reading glasses off before he dived into business.
"The technicalities of the mission involve the following." He saw the impatient look in my eyes and proceeded with the details I was so eager for.
"You will now go by the name and persona of Angelina Alfonzi. She is the daughter of Franco Alfonzi, a business partner for Lorenzo Moretti. You two so happen to look extraordinarily similar in features. Fortunately for you all you need is the attitude and attire."
James explained and handed me a photo of who I assume to be Angelina Alfonzi.
I was once again left in complete and utter shock, the resemblance is impeccable you would think I had a long lost sister. It felt like looking at a photo of myself except my hair is longer and my eyes are a lighter shade of brown.
"You'll be attending the Moretti's annual winter ball. You will also be spending a few weeks there after the ball, granted their hospitality due to close ties with Lorenzo Moretti's daughter, Alisa. You must form a bond with her in order to do so."
I simply nodded.
"Also know that the Morettis don't spend much time with their fathers business partners' daughter. You're not really acquainted since they keep business professional, so no stressing about what you need to know about them. It's like a fresh friendship. The only one Angelina formally met once, is the Mafia leader himself, Lorenzo. Though it was very brief so no stress once again."
"What if this Angelina shows up to the ball?"
"That's already been taken care of."
"Of Course it has." He seems amused by that comment.
