CHAPTER-3

"you back home Dia , how was your surgery" Trisha asks me

"the surgery was absolutely successful, it was of eight hours & now all I need is a power nap because the next week is gonna be much more hectic than this"
•I am exhausted at this point•

Trisha has moved to my apartment last week, because her landlord has fired her. I didn't needed her today so she was at my home only.

"that means the next week is going to hectic for both of us , is there any vip or important case?" Trisha says

"Yes there is a rare case , A patient had a really bad accident last night, his name is Justin , his whole body is injured , also he had a rare heart disease so it's becoming difficult for us to repair his bones."

"Oh my, it's so heartbreaking, So we need the whole team of doctors right ?"
Trisha in curiosity

"yes & our director has called the best doctors from various cities & i know we will succeed" i said proudly

"yes i also hope so"

After that I took a quick shower and we both go to bed.

(The Next day)

"Morning Trisha , are you ready for today ?"

"Not yet Dia , i need a coffee before that "

"me too , pls"

We both sit and drink a cup of coffee , it's 4:00am in the morning, a bit early than my usual timing.

"ready & fresh to work now" Trisha says in a relaxing way

I nod.

We move to the hospital by my car.

(At the hospital)

There's too much chaos , the Press reporters interviewing the Director, & the patient's family members.

I immediately rush to the staffroom to change into my shrubs & move towards the ICU for counseling my patients & specially check the condition of Justin.

(In the ICU)

I am done examining my patients & their condition is good.
Now I have to check Justin

His condition is too bad, his whole body is shivering and it feels like it's frozen almost, his eyes are swallow and red, and his whole body is covered with bandages.
He is sleeping so I think I should go & prepare for his surgery.

I am standing in door of ICU when I hear someone breathing very unevenly
& Fast. When I turn back it was Justin.
He was shaking , i could his voice "Ahhh,Ahhh" , i rush toward him and try to fix him ,

"Nurse bring Ambu fast" i scream loudly.

"Yes ma'am" Trisha in hurry

"I think we need to start CPR , his heartbeat is decreasing."

•Trisha Nods & helps me with Ambu•

I start giving him CPR immediately , after a minute his heartbeat becomes normal and i got some peace.
But immediately i become anxious, because it's not normal, we have to do his surgery asap.
I need to talk to Dr.Horance (the director & neurosurgeon)

(In the cabin)

"May i come in Dr.Horance. I need to talk about something very important"

(Dr.Horance sitting in his Couch doing some paper works)

"Yes come in Dr.Diana, any update on Justin?"

"yes Doctor he almost lost his life, i gave him CPR , i think we need to do surgery asap,"

"What, why didn't you call me"

"It was an emergency so i need to start CPR immediately otherwise he would have died"

"Ohhh, i have already prepared for the surgery there would be a team of highly qualified Surgeons , Neurosurgeon, Orthopaedic surgeon, general surgeon & You,Cardio thoracic surgeon."

"Ok, So you have finally arranged the best doctors."

"yes, they would be here soon."

"Ok so i need to prepare for that"

I was standing there facing Dr.Horance while i hear two soft knocks in the door of cabin.

Dr.Horance : Come in.

Someone enters , i can't see the person, as i am facing Dr.Horance, & haven't turned yet.

Dr.Horance: Oh you.
the person: Hello Doctor.
Dr.Horance: Hi, Welcome to FMS Hospital, we are glad to have you here.
the person: Thank you Doctor.
Dr.Horance: (looks at me & says) Dr.Diana Meet the best orthopaedic surgeon of Chicago & 5 times, the winner of Castle Connolly. Dr.Rahul Sharma.
•What , what did I just heard , Rahul !
I can't believe my ears, i turn slowly and guess what. He is Rahul! He is Rahul , He is standing in front of me•

•Maybe it's just an other dream of him, as he comes in my dream quite often.•

He moves his hands forward. But I am standing still , even my eyes are not blinking , as they are busy seeing his face.
He is the same, even his eye glasses are same, the spot he had near his eyes is same, his hairs , his hands , his dressing everything is same as it was before 10yrs. and yes he seems more beautiful in real life than in images.

He snap his fingers towards my face, & i start blinking again.
He put forward his hands again for a handshake.
I shakes my hands with him.
His warm hands made my palm warm , i could feel his touch in my whole body.

•words can't describe my feeling right now , i am neither smiling, laughing, or crying. My expression is neutral.•

Dr.Horance: Dr.Rahul meet Dr.Diana , one of the best cardio thoracic surgeon of Newyork , she has recently been awarded with Castle Cannolly & Like you, she has also achieved a huge success in such a young age.

Rahul: oh, that's great. Congratulations Dr

I nod.

Dr.Horance: why didn't you attended Castle Cannolly this year.

Rahul: Actually I had some important event that day & also i wasn't nominated this time so.

Dr.Horance: Oh ok, Now as i told you about this case earlier , we have a surgery in 2hrs the other team of Doctor would be joining you. One of the them is Dr.Diana.
(He looks at me & his eyes meets mine)
So now you guys can discuss about the case & prepare for the surgery.
