"Chan what are you staring at?" Felix asks Chan breaking him from the trance he had been put in by his ex girlfriend entering the cafe he had been at with Felix. What was she doing in South Korea?
" Nothing." Chan tells Felix not wanting to get into his past with his new lover. The two had broken up so long ago he does not understand why she still makes him feel this way. Like they had been together just yesterday. He had to choose between his career as an idol or his relationship and he chose his career.
Y/N must have noticed Chan too because when the two went to leave she came up to him and started talking.
"Chris?" The woman asks him. Chan has to stop himself from breaking right there. Hearing her say his name. She has not changed physically since the day he left her still as strikingly beautiful.
"Yea, that's me." Chan pauses before continuing to speak " Y/N?"
"Yea, Who is that?" Y/N asks pointing towards Felix.
" That's my boyfriend, Felix." Chan answers awkwardly.
" Oh" Y/N says dropping her beautiful smile for a second. It coming back quickly for her to ask. " I was hoping since we bumped into each other and I will be in Seoul for a little while if you would not like to catch up with each other?" her demeanor turning hopeful. Chan looks over at Felix silently asking if he was ok with this. Felix nods at the older man.
" Yea, I would love that. Let me get you my number then we can text a time to meet up." Chan tells the woman who quickly grabs a pen from her purse as well as a napkin from the table they were standing near. Quickly jotting down her number in her perfect handwriting. Everything about her still mesmerizing Chan like it did back then. The two had been together for a year when she came to stay with family in South Korea. Chan had been offered to leave JYP and return home at the time and had to make the hardest decision imaginable. His career or follow his lover back to Australia. In the end he chose the career he had worked so hard on. Ever since that day he regretted his choice.
Over the next few weeks Chan and Y/N would catch up never talking about their relationship only what has happened since the two last spoke. Chan having debuted and began touring in fact the band had just come back from touring a few days prior to the meeting. Having decided to hang out at a local restaurant and then go out for a walk around a park. Both Chan and Y/N were nervous for this date. Knowing that the topic of their relationship would come up. Both people still being helplessly in love with the other both knowing however that it would be impossible for them to get back together.
The day had come the morning had went and in the afternoon Chan begins to get ready to leave. Felix watching him from their bed. "Chan love?" Felix says trying to grab Chans attention after noticing the worry on his face as he is fixing his black hair into a style that would look ok under his hat.
" Yes Felix?" The worry still very evident in his voice.
" What are you so worried about? She is just a girl from your past. Everything will be ok." Felix tries to comfort Chan. His words only making Chan feel worse as he has had the thought over and over again that he might not be as in love with Felix as he was with her but he needed to let her go. No matter how much it might hurt him to say goodbye to her all over again.
Chan and Y/N enter the restaurant side by side. Seeing the beautiful decorations and light atmosphere. The place they chose served sushi. The two joked as they ate their food and made light conversation. Everything seemed to fall into place when the two were together. After finishing eating the two pay and leave the place. Making their way to the park the atmosphere surrounding them changes. They both knew they needed to have this conversation.
"Remember when we used to steal my uncles liquor and climb on the roof of the house?" Y/N starts first. Starting on a happy note was probably the best choice.
" Talk about our future like we had a clue." Chan said to her smiling slightly. Every fiber of his being wanting to reach out and hold her hand that was just sitting on her leg.
" Never planned that one day, I'd be losing you." Y/N whispers to herself not expecting Chan to hear. He did however he did not reply. The two let the car drop into a comfortable silence just basking in the others presence. The two making it to the park and slowly walking to a secluded spot.
"I was June and you were my Johnny Cash." Y/N says sitting next to Chan on the bench they had chose.
" Never one without the other. We made a pact." Chan says the both of them begin reminiscing about the past.
" Ya know sometimes when I miss you I put your music on. It helps me remember you chose work because it was something you were passionate about and I don't feel as bad." Y/N tells Chan. Chan smiles slightly after hearing this.
"Someone said you got a tattoo of our first debut song." Chan says. Y/N nods her head. Slowly removing the bracelet she wears every day to expose her tattoo of a small 9 on her wrist.
" Yea, I've thought about getting it removed but I could never bring myself to do it." She says caressing it lightly.
" Keep it, its nice to see that you remember me." Chan says to Y/N watching her closely. She nods.
" In another life, I would be your girl." Y/N whimpers out.
" We would keep all our promises be us against the world." Chan agrees with her.
" I would make you come back with me. So I don't have to say you were the one that got away." Y/N admits to Chan looking down at her hands trying to keep the fact that she was on the verge of tears away from the man.
" In another life I would gladly go back to Australia with you. I will always love you Y/N. However we need to let each other go. I have Felix and you have your life back home. " Chan tells Y/N the both of them knowing that this is where they would end up. Tears running down the both of their faces. It felt like that gut wrenching pain of a break up all over again. Chan and Y/N cry silently together.
" You will always be the one that got away." Y/N says to Chan before standing up and wiping her tears. Not wanting to cause a scene nor hurt the man more. "Chan, Do you want ice cream?" She asks." My treat."
" Yes." The man stands up and they begin the walk across the park to the car. Getting in and heading towards the closest ice cream shop.
"Ice cream is one sure fire way to heal a broken heart." Y/N says to Chan.
"Even better when its chocolate." The both of them say in unison. Making both of them giggle.
" I remembered you would say that every time my debut got delayed. Then you would disappear into the kitchen and come back where ever I was in your house with chocolate ice cream and two spoons." The two have giant smiles on their faces at the memories.
" It worked didn't it? Also I told you one day you would look upon those days and smile." Y/N teases Chan.
" It did and I am. You are always right." Chan tells Y/N making the two laugh more.
" Two chocolate cones please." Y/N says the the cashier. Paying and waiting for their order to be finished. Falling into a peaceful silence. After finishing the ice cream the two decide that it was a good time to go on their separate ways.
